I also look at measurables quite closely. Hines is now even more of a beast!!! Darius Mullins needed to shed more than 10 Lbs and he needs to contribute this year. Taylor has added significant muscle mass. I saw him at a camp. I mentioned in another thread that Chambers is now TOO big at 345 but maybe he can make it work. He seemed to move too slow at 325.

Go Rockets!!!

Good Lord, Hines was an animal at his previous weight. If his speed doesn’t suffer I smell three All-MAC years coming.

RE: Some Roster Changes(Bodyweights).
I noticed the weight changes. It seems like the OL is either bulking up or trimming down. All positive. We haven’t seen Mullins play yet, but shedding 10 is a reflection of working hard. Nice job. The young DE’s have bulked up nice. Toledo’s DL brings some size. I believe that should translate to better depth and run stop. The team has been working hard. Koback is up 20 lbs. He was good at the extra 3-4 yards after contact. Must have muscled up some more. I would love to see Edrick Matthews have a break out year, as well as some of these O-linemen (Ateman, Berg, Haslem, Corey, Dumont, etc.). It is time for some lights out linebacker play, and for Shakif to also have an injury free all-league year.

Let’s go Rockets!

BTW, if Guadagni comes back for a solid senior year, I like the Rockets chances at a championship. The QB coach podcast confirmed the premature runs after not checking through the receiver progressions adequately. Fix a few things, and this should work out fine.

I agree PTL.

We’ll know soon enough whether or not Guagdani has made that next step and if he does then big things can happen in 2019.

Go Rockets!!!

RE: Some Roster Changes(Bodyweights).
looking through the new roster i feel a bit more excited about the season. the oline is very experienced and that includes a solid group of veteran tight ends. and we should be able to run the ball. you start to realize that despite all the backup rb transfer noise, we have a great group of pretty big veteran backs. there's plenty of size up front on d and some promising younger ends who now all have a year or two of development under their belt. and still a lot of seniors on this defensive 2 deep. there's question marks. kicker. LB is a weakness until proven otherwise. qb situation is interesting but there's no guarantees and guadagni's greatest gift-his legs-put him in danger of injury again. still on paper it looks like a veteran team without holes. i think the kentucky game will be close. first, under stoops kentucky rarely blows anyone out and most all of their G5 games the past 5 years were fairly close. second, the talent gap is not huge. kentucky signs higher rated recruits on average, but their classes are always near the bottom of the SEC. they will be big and athletic, yet we aren't lining up against guys likely to leave school early for the NFL. thirdly, this is a rockets team that should control some clock and momentum on the ground. that's been kentucky's weakness in that their win-lose record almost mirrors when they win or lose the rushing game. they aren't built as a quick strike team. so, if we can sustain drives on the ground and make it a running clock ball control type of game we should hang around. and, while I'm sure it will be a fun trip for the rockets fans that can make it, they don't have an exciting loud SEC football crowd culture. it's a large open stadium that will be maybe 2/3 full at noon on a summer saturday against a mac team. there's a real shot here. go rockets

With Benny Snell drafted by the Steelers, UK loses an enormous portion of their offense and recent success. If we can put together the pieces that we think we have, this’ll be a fun winnable game.

They expect 55k on their message board.

5/6ths of capacity for a historically bad team opening against CMU is like Ball State drawing 19k in their 23k seat stadium for CCSU. Or us drawing over 21,000. That's pretty good. Expect it to be better to is season coming off a NY6 win.

This wasn’t mentioned on the transfer news thread, but I no longer see LB Tre’Shun Wilson listed on the roster. Checked his Twitter and looks like he’s a JUCO product now. I thought he had potential as a Rocket. Desperately hoping someone at that position is ready to step up in a big way this season.
