Actually a decent non-con schedule. Longwood and Coppin St the only 2 D1 cupcakes.

RE: Any word on basketball opponents?
Found out that it is called the "College Hoops Roadshow". Seems to be just a bunch of games for teams not in real tournaments. Supposedly the SIUE game is listed also.

It's a nonbracketed multiteam event. The Longwood, Rockford, Coppin and SIU-E games are all part of it along with a bunch of others.

Right now I am coming up the Huskies finishing .500 in conference. Given the losses, Id take that if it happens!

RE: Any word on basketball opponents?
Here is my prognostication of 2019-2020 NIU bball conference wise:
Right now I see no double digit Huskie projected losses, thats a good thing. Just looking at this me, to me where NIU has to do major damage is the stretch from the WMU home game to the Kent State home game. Have to go 4-1 in that 5 game stretch.

Expected Wins: 9.1

@ Buffalo, Bulls by 7
@ CMU, Chips by 5
EMU, Huskies by 11
Akron, Huskies by 4
@ Bowling Green, Falcons by 8
@ Kent State, Golden Flashes by 6
WMU, Huskies by 11
Ohio, Huskies by 10
Miami-OH, Huskies by 5
@ Toledo, Rockets by 8
Kent State, Huskies by 1
@ Ball State, Cardinals by 9
@ Miami-OH, Redhawks by 2
CMU, Huskies by 2
@ EMU, Huskies by 4
@ WMU, Huskies by 4
Toledo, Rockets by 1
Ball State, Huskies by 2

9-9 is the target, that is very doable! Huskies should be even better in conference this year even minus the Thorpe and Bradley, bring on bball!

Mad dawg, don’t you think they will struggle for points? I don’t see any double digit scorers on the team other than Geno.

It will probably be a struggle I agree, but I think 9-9 is very possible this season in conference as many other teams in conference have as much or more losses than NIU. Right now I have NIU as 9-9 and in the 7 or 8 seed range. WMU and EMU might have very rough seasons so that is 4 great opportunities for wins right there

dc1 this is how I see the MAC playing out this year, do you see any projections that hit you as completely out to lunch?

Akron 9-9
Miami-OH 8-10
Ohio 5-13

MAC West

Ball State 12-6
Toledo 12-6
Central Michigan 10-8
Northern Illinois 9-9
Western Michigan 5-13

I think guys on NIU are going to have defined roles and while they may lack scoring I think they may be the best in the west. The league I believe is taking a huge step down from last year or the previous year.

Definitely agree about the rest of the MAC coming down a bit. NIU finished 8-10 in conference play last year and loses two huge contributors in Bradley and Thorpe, but I have them actually tacking on a game due to the losses in the rest of the conference. Toledo and Ball State are tough to forecast, Ball State does return a lot although maybe not their most important parts. BSU underachieved last year, I would expect they will rebound this year given a weakened MAC and a lot of returning players.

James is capable if he can make his gimme shots around the basket. Rod Henry-Hayes should be pretty good from 3 this year. With the 3pt line moved back look for this to help NIU as I don’t think teams will kill them from the 3 like last year. German already was shooting deep 3’s I think he has a chance to lead the MAC in 3’s made and 3pt shooting %.

RE: Any word on basketball opponents?
I think Justin Lee will need to be a 5 to 7 point per game guy for this team to succeed

Maybe a stupid question but if Justin Lee didn't see any game action last year, why is he a sophomore?

RE: Any word on basketball opponents?
I assume he red shirted last year so this year he is a freshman eligibility but maybe he has enough credits to be a sophomore.
