The DeKalb tournament is unlikely to be Thanksgiving weekend with NIU hosting the IHSA football championships that Friday & Saturday

That's a good point. And actually since we've got Pitt the Monday of Thankgiving week it probably won't be that prior weekend either but the weekend of Nov 16th.

Have only heard about a tourney that is played at several locations.

Northern Iowa has 3 teams that advanced in the NCAA Tournament this decade, including one that knocked off a 33-2 Kansas team en route to the Sweet 16. 2 of those teams finished ranked top 25.

They've been down the last few years but that would be a big get. They're expected to be better this year.

Progress over the past 20 years with the UNI/NIU confusion from announcers/refs will be undone in 1 basketball game.

Having that said, that would be a great home opponent to have.

Interesting to see back to back games and 3 in 4 days at the Convo, although 1 is D3 (Rockford).

Looks like sportsfan was right about the tournament. Looks like Pacific and UC Riverside will play out west and the winner plays Longwood/NIU winner at now unknown site. Even though Huskies lost a lot in Bradley/Thorpe they have better NET ranking (140) than all known opponents except ISU (19) and Pitt (120). Should be a competitive nonconference schedule.
