With skills PT has shown at pass blocking it will be a good thing for the passing game that he is on the field even more this season..

I hope PT has a great year and goes early in the draft. He has the body, the skills, and the dedication to earn a living playing the game he obviously loves. League coaches appreciate the kind of skills he has demonstrated.

Don't sleep on Clark, he was a beast in MS ball. I think our depth this season will shock some people.

I haven't had time to fully research, but he had a lot more carriers of 20+ yards than I thought. While he isn't in the class of DH as far as breakaway speak, he sure had quite a few long runs... sometimes because he flattened the DB that was trying to tackle him.

He's on the Doak an Maxwell list, but even more exciting to me is that he is on a list for AllState Goodworks Team. Which means he is another ambassador off the field as well as on it!!

The cream will rise! I would love to see a burner rise to the top as a contrast to PTs style.

Gainwell was one of the faster players on the team. The JUCO player is pretty fast as well. Don't sleep on PT6s speed. He is not a bruiser than can't break the big one. He will outrun or runover enough people to break long runs this season.

It will continue rolling along on virtually the same clip that it has been since Coach Norvell arrived. Look for maybe 5 to 6 more passes per game, unless we really jump an opponent or face a team that can't stop the run. We will be a Top 20 offense once again, but this time should have a pretty salty defense to match up with them.

And just for the record, I think PT6 might just be drafted higher than DH.

The only reason I think he might not is because of the depth at RB this year in the draft. Look at who was drafted ahead of him last season. Both were considered to be more on the power back side than DH.

If he has the type season I believe he will, I think he will easily go first three rounds. Especially if everything I am hearing about how his summer workouts are going.

True that on PT. I've said as much in the OP.

He has size and speed. Something NFL teams want. If DH had his size he would have gone much earlier. PT has shown the ability to take a beating and stay in the game and pound the other team and then bust it open if he has a crack.

Very good chance he will end career 2nd in rushing yards and rushing TDs.

PT doesn't have great speed. Its average. And he hits the holes too slow. He does have good size though. There will be a drop off from DH. But PT is a good back and will be fine, just don't expect any All American votes to come his way. JMO

Anybody remember that dominating Doss season? He actually had a worse year than when DeAngelo was here.

It doesn’t work like that.

Taylor will all of a sudden become average? That's "how it works?" Funny.

MAJOR DIFFERENCE. DeAngelo carried the load for the most part and Doss was just support for three years. Taylor carried the load when it comes to the number of rushes per game. Last year was the first time Henderson ever lead the team in rushing attempts. So we know that Taylor can handle carrying the load of the rushing game. And as we saw in the UConn game he has the ability to break the big one. With two 35 yard TD runs. Just a repeat of last year's numbers and he will be top 2 in several Tigers rushing records.

There are probably a couple on this forum who could’ve broke a couple against the UConn D not to take anything away from what Patrick did last year. Seems when we got close the the goal line, Coach always called his number. He can get the tough yards.

How many could break a 70 yarder in AAC title game?

‘Running backs coach Anthony Jones says there's no reason Taylor can't match Henderson's production of a year ago.”

This quote answers my original question. CMN says he will get 25 carries a gamer over 14 games.

Good article in today’s paper about Taylor

Rated the same by NFL as Pollard but he decided to come back and be the man

Worth a read

Another year of strength training under one of the best in the business and I think his draft grade goes much higher.

He has quite a bit to prove and I think he will do so and then some.

I don't expect him to try to beat someone else's numbers.
I think Taylor can give us 1000+ yards this year rushing...that should be the goal.
Everything else...draft stock will take care of itself, if he takes care of rushing, catching, and blocking for his QB on pass plays.

I expect Taylor to be a good RB. Same as he was last year. It took a player of Henderson's abilities and production last year to overshadow him.

yeah...
Pollard was known more for special teams plays that he made...that folks outside the program might not have realized that he was also a good RB.
Pollard ran the ball well enough last year to earn a good draft grade.
Taylor will get enough touches that he can exceed Pollard's with some effort.
