Anyone that thinks it's chick-fil-a's logo probably isn't someone whose opinion is worth worrying about.

I like the new jersies. I like the simpler, clean look. I think uniforms need to start trending back towards that. I don't like the cartoonish designs of some teams nowdays. The look like they were designed in a preschool.

Yup. Idk anyone outside of grade school that thinks Oregon uniforms are cool.

Bolded, I concur. It's become among the most recognized graphic identities in all of college sports. In my travels coast to coast, when I'm wearing a UC polo shirt I frequently hear, "Go Bearcats" or "Cincinnati" from folks I encounter. How many of those people could identify the Central Michigan University "C" logo?

Today's C-Paw is an improvement on the beloved original. It's a bolder, cleaner version that still pays homage to the original. I think it's here to stay.

Regarding the uniforms. I've been okay with the black and white versions for football and felt the red version was too generic and the Bearcat head too cartoon-ish. If new uniforms are really all about selling more merchandise, I don't think this change will get much traction in retail. It's a little cleaner design but I too wonder about the big C-Paw on the sleeve. The size is great for this video but knowing how that material gets rolled and bunched I'm not sure it will be distinguishable during games as to just what that is.

Regarding red at UC, I'm fine with seeing more of it too. UC's red has been distinct from most area schools that use darker shades. Under Nike, it was called "flame red". If you compare your old gear, Adidas actually darkened it a shade (which I didn't like) and UA returned to the previous brighter version they called Armour Red, much like Nike used.

To me, UA is getting it about right; UC doesn't need to be stodgy old school like a traditional power such as Penn State; but they certainly don't want to sport an over-designed uni like we sometimes see in the FCS or DII playoffs either. We've got the best possible colors. UC plays at a high level--and looks the part of a major college football program; these will look fine in an access bowl! I'd say the same for our UA baseball and basketball uniforms these past few years too: solid but not spectacular.

I gave a couple C-Paw hats to a friend who lives in Houston, who wore the hat fairly often (he passed away yesterday, so that won't happen anymore). He complained about people asking if he worked for Chic-fil-A.

To the person who suggested going back to the interlocking block UC from the 80's - NO! NO! That was awful. Maybe not quite as bad as the University's current official eye-hurting interlocking UC logo, but still bad.

But as far as the C-Paw logo goes, it does kinda look Chic-fil-A-ish.

My guess is the poster was referring to the mid to late 1970s version of the interlocking block UC

I mean, in fairness...there is a resemblance. Its not as bad as say, Washington Nationals and Walgreens, but it is noticeable.

I'd never heard that before from anyone, but I immediately went to look up that Chick Fil A Logo and yea I can see it.

Doesn't matter. CPaw is still great.

Best logo in sports IMO. I'm biased.

I would be ok with that interlocking UC, though it doesn't at all fit the hardcore urban vibe UC likes to portray in its sports videos.

Agreed. Took the UC canopy on vacation this year, got quite a few shout outs, questions, and a couple taunts. But everyone knew it was the Bearcats. The C-Paw is slick and the success of the football and basketball programs have helped to establish it as a strong brand.

In regards to the older 90s C-paw, it never did it for me. I always thought it was sloppy, like someone scribbled it on a napkin and handed it in to the AD and the AD was like "good enough".

One of easy fixes I like for current C-PAW is an outline. Red C-PAW outline in white on a black helmet and jersey would go a long way.
