I think it would take an utter catastrophe to keep us out of the NCAA tournament at this point. With a deep pitching staff, I like our chances of finally (FINALLY!) getting past the NCAA Regionals after some disappointing close calls.

Although UCF Baseball is having an awesome season, beating up teams in the Atlantic Sun won't compare to the competition in the playoffs. On top of that, we're 2-6 against LSU, Fla Atlantic, and USF this year. Not a good sign we can compete deep into the playoffs. If we make it to the Super Regionals, I'd be surprised. Nevertheless, I like our chances. This year's team is pretty good. Go Knights!

I'm a little confused, KnightTrain. You seem to be saying the team is very good and not that good all in one paragraph. 03-confused

Duh, I read that again and you're right, it doesn't quite make sense. LOL. Bottom line, though, is I like this team and its chances of advancing. However, I'm concerned about the way we've played against stronger opponents. It's like our football team. Beating teams we should, but never quite good enough to beat the major conference teams. I guess I'm hoping this team can overcome that complex and actually step up and advance.

The trend seems to be that the Regional hosts advance far more often than the visiting teams. It's critical that UCF expand Jay Bergman Field so that we have a shot at hosting a Regional, which I think would boost our chances of advancing. For now, though, our team will have to just be mentally tough on the road when playing in the Regionals.

Our Bullpen is awful this year, we better hope that Foxy, Bono, and Newlin can carry the load. On top of that our offense has dwindled since the start of the season.

Mighty busy signature you have there! I like it, though! :thumb: :thumb:

Yeah, the bullpen is a little scary. We haven't really established a definite closer. The pitching staff has only 4 saves this season, and 3 of those are owned by two players who are now starters (Kyle Bono and Darren Newlin). We need stronger performances by the bullpen to take some heat off the starters.
