In 2008 then working as a US attorney, now Labor Secretary Alex Acosta allowed Epstein to negotiate an extremely lenient agreement that was kept secret from his victims -- denying them the opportunity to affect the prosecutorial process. On February 21, a federal judge ruled that Miami prosecutors, led by then-US Attorney Acosta, broke the law when they arranged a plea deal for billionaire Jeffrey Epstein in 2008 without conferring with his victims.
There is no way you can say the Trump Administration is without fault in their dealings with Epstein if Acosta is allowed to remain on the job. He helped create a sweetheart deal for a sex offender.
I agree that a full explanation is in order. And if Acosta cannot supply one, he should be fired. At the absolute bare minimum, we need to know why Epstein’s victims were not told about the terms of the plea-bargain.
Still, though — the Obama Justice Department had the full 8 years to review this NPA and take action. Seems like nothing happened. What’s that about?
FIU hired him as the Dean of their law school, and he held that for 8 years while Obama was in office. Seems like nobody complained. What to make of that?
And of course Acosta was nominated to be federal Labor Secretary by Trump a couple of years ago. Confirmed 60-38, so 8 Democrats (at least) voted Yes. That’s more than what most other nominees got.
RE: Jeffrey Epstein arrested on sex trafficking of minors charges
When the lawyer for some of the victims, Brad Edwards was subpoenaing people and trying to get information, he said Trump was one of the only people who voluntarily talked to him in 2009, provided information and helped him in the case against Epstein.
You can see the lawyer here, starting around 5:30, talking about how Trump helped him and the victims.
“He is the only person who picked up the phone and said, ‘Let’s just talk, I’ll give you as much time as you want, I’ll tell you what you need to know and was very helpful in the information that he gave and gave no indication whatsoever that he was involved in anything untoward whatsoever. But had good information, that checked out and that helped us.”
According to Radar Online, Edwards said it was obvious Trump wasn’t involved.
“During the conversation, Mr. Trump was open and forthright,” Edwards said. “I cannot discuss the substance of the conversation. But I will say that it was obvious to me that he was in no way involved in any untoward activity.”
Meanwhile, logs show that Bill Clinton rode on the ‘Lolita Express’ at least 26 times.
Quote:Former President Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the “Lolita Express” — even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights, according to records obtained by FoxNews.com.
Clinton’s presence aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s Boeing 727 on 11 occasions has been reported, but flight logs show the number is more than double that, and trips between 2001 and 2003 included extended junkets around the world with Epstein and fellow passengers identified on manifests by their initials or first names, including “Tatiana.” The tricked-out jet earned its Nabakov-inspired nickname because it was reportedly outfitted with a bed where passengers had group sex with young girls.
And Virginia Roberts, who is one of Epstein’s alleged victims, said she saw Clinton at Epstein’s estate on Little St. James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the place some have referred to as “Orgy Island.” According to Fox, the logs do not show anything about Clinton going to the island.

Not really sure why Obama's name is thrown in there. Wouldn't there have to been a complaint lodged with the Justice Department for Acosta's action to be reviewed? I can't imagine the Justice Department has time to just review state cases on their own without some organization bringing it in front of them (maybe there was a complaint lodged but I haven't seen any reference to it yet). And his time at FIU has nothing to do with Obama.
Clinton sure - I get those connections. But I haven't seen Obama's name anywhere connected to Epstein. Yet.
It's also noteworthy that Epstein's defense lawyers include Alan Dershowitz (who I've already mentioned, and he was mentioned as a client although he denies it), and Kenneth Starr.

I mentioned Obama’s name not because I think he is culpable in this, but simple because he was President from 2009-2017. If it had been McCain or Romney or whoever, I’d have used their names.

Fear not. You’ll be hearing his name a lot more from here on out.
Short answer: super-rich Wall-Street type with a thing for females in the 14-17 range. Has (or had) his own personal island where he’d get to know them better. Sometimes he’d bring friends along.

Ok so that probably 90% of those in that tax bracket. So why does he get a thread?

He just got indicted/arrested over the weekend. And way back in 2008 he got a suspiciously-lenient deal from then-US Attorney for S.D./Florida, who is now the Labor Secretary.

Ok well that guy needs to answer some stuff
Precisely.
Going back @Fort Bend Owl: I should’ve phrased it, “for 8 years after Acosta stopped being the US Atty., his successors in office did (seemingly) nothing to revisit or question his actions in the Epstein matter. Why not?
Florida International University made him dean of their law school. Were they aware of the Epstein case?” etc.

I sure would like you to drag up some of the posts here where people scoffed at the notion. This board has a pretty stout search function so it's not that hard to do.
But if Clinton is involved, he needs to pay the price too. Same with Donald Trump. No one should be spared.
I'm not going to do your work for you. If you polled 20 people here on it you would be the sole person denying it. Why are you still denying it?
One google search : "Flight logs obtained by Gawker in January 2015 put Mr. Clinton on the billionaire’s infamous jet more than a dozen times"...

So much deflection. You remind me of my son when he was 6 and caught in a lie or doing something wrong and still denying it.
You really do need to realize and then accept that your side is is disproportionately made up of POS liars, degenerates, criminals and pedophiles.
