Any way you want to cut it - $3.7 million (or more) DOD etc. didn't have to spend except to please The Donald.

Should have spent a little more on teleprompter, or his family "advisors" prepping him for his speech?

They should find that "tutor" who got him through American History in the 60's, and get their money back.

To answer your question. I've always wondered why fly by's, parachuting in, etc are done before sporting events. I don't agree with it, we can sing the anthem, thank our armed forces, without having to see hardware.

My pops was a WWII vet and he never agreed with it either, seemed extremist to him.

Because it’s cool and it screams America, I don’t know about the tanks thing tho. Where are the inhumane concentration camps? And are they refugees or apprehended illegal aliens? Aliens that want to come into our very “average” country according to the NYT and most of the left. If anyone can name a better country I’d like to know.

Depends what you want in a country. If you are well off (i.e. the minority) and can afford to truly partake in the grand wealth the country as a whole has accumulated it's great. But if you're among the poor to average group.. lots of better places to be.

You’re joking right? No other country has the freedom, opportunity, and economic success that America has. Why are there so many illegals trying to pour into the US if it’s so mediocre? Not many other places in the world can you start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Please don’t come back with Nordic countries as an example as we basically fund their entire defense budgets. Just remember who had to bail the world out when nazi Germany started to overtake, not the UK, not France, not Sweden, not Canada. USA

Gimme a break dude, that "opportunity" is a myth these days, upward mobility is incredibly rare in the US and its designed that way.

Its great and all that we have military might but that has nothing to do with the conversation about everyday standard of living, it isn't mutually exclusive.

Keep talking about this **** from your sheltered suburban Chicago upbringing, it's funny to watch your lack of perspective in every post.

How is the US designed to deter upward mobility??? And how do you know what kind of upbringing I had? It's a little naive to assume that, don't you think? Do we really wanna continue to move in the direction of the progressive agenda where everyone pays over 50% in taxes and everyone is equal?? America was founded on the fact that you could come to this country with nothing and build your way up to the top, no it's not easy at all but if you bust your ass and continue to improve yourself, make yourself more marketable, take out loans, get a degree, whatever you gotta do, then yea it's possible. We've become a nation where we always look to blame the other person for our own shortcomings, always blaming the rich and asking the government for more money.

I'm not assuming, you've posted about it.

The ever-increasing income inequality we have has been a long effort by corporations lobbying the government. It's all well and good if America was founded that way (though I dispute that, but here nor there), but the facts show it's not the case right now.

Not only the Nordic countries we're lagging behind. And possibly the biggest barrier is the rising cost of higher education.

Nobody is saying it's not possible to climb the ladder, but sure isn't easy or the norm. Again, you appear very out of touch with how the world works when you aren't born into at least some level of means.

Edit: you are misrepresenting most people's "progressive agenda" -- very few people are aiming for some sort of perfectly equal income. There's a balance to be struck between incentivizing growth at the top and encouraging a thriving middle class. It's difficult to see how anyone thinks we're hitting that balance in modern times.

Sounds good dude, go ahead and keep assuming my financial situation, it usually works out well for people that always assume things and believe they are right. As for the progressive agenda, it is becoming more popular today than ever, look at Bernie Sanders, AOC, Kamala Harris, the list goes on in on. If you really wanna live in a country like that then I guess it's your vote, however I'm gonna stick to the more level headed conservative/libertarian concepts.

Fthechips do you think our current POTUS is a "more level headed conservative/libertarian"?

If not - who would you recommend-support in the next election?

Nope, not at all. For next election? If I could pick anybody, Ron or Rand Paul but I don’t see either of them running much less winning.
