Aww thanks! Finally, a conference mate that doesn't want to get rid of us....

But really, I wouldn't want to see USA leave either. Some of our best/most entertaining games since being in the Belt have been with USA.

We are the LAST he would hate to see leave so he wouldn't hate to see us leave/wants us to leave lol

He said one of the last. There’s a compliment in there somewhere.

You're right! I spent so much effort decoding the latter part that I didn't completely read the first part.

Troy, Louisiana and Arkansas State would be the others. Actually I’m OK with everyone staying put and adding UAB & USM, as stated earlier.

Just trade us to Conference USA and they can create MCUSAGA hats to celebrate our entry.

What two members would most likely get the required majority votes in both conferences for admission and accept invites to make the trade happen? Also, could a series of these trades a viable model to reorganize both leagues?

I'd propose we trade Texas State for Middle Tennessee. Middle has a nice central location that many SBC teams could bus to and Texas State could go be with the Texas schools in CUSA.

It might be a challenge to find a trade that enough schools would agree with but IMO if we can't at least make this work there's no hope of reorganizing bot leagues.

In this hypothetical scenario, I think Texas State jumps all over it. I always thought the WAC was a good fit because of UTSA, Louisiana Tech, NMSU and UTA. I think CUSA would be a good fit because of UTSA, UTEP, Louisiana Tech, Rice and North Texas.

I really appreciate the Sun Belt giving us a home for FBS football and we have done little for the conference in return. Even with that said, the Sun Belt has always felt like a Southern football conference and I have always felt like we were a Southwestern football school. Even though I feel that CUSA is too spread out and probably needs to lose a few schools, it is a better regional fit for Texas State.

Soooo, if you liked the WAC, how do you feel about MWC?

Since this is another of many hypothetical scenarios involving the creation of the perfect conference for (insert team name here).
Not that we have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting a MWC invite . .

RE: CUSA-SBC member trades
I've always felt that the Sun Belt was SEC junior. If you look at it that way, we're the A&M of the Sun Belt. I'm cool with that. Our geographic location can fit with all of the G5's except the MAC. The Sun Belt is still there better conference between CUSA and the Belt though.

That would be my preferred conference, in a hypothetical scenario. In my fantasy scenario, the MWC would expand to 14 and add UTSA and Texas State. It's a better football and basketball conference than either CUSA or the SBC. It would be the only FBS conference located in both Texas and California. We would have to raise our game, significantly. Of course, we need to raise our game just to compete in the SBC.

We’ll trade you Georgia State and Critters grammatical skills for UTSA and a school to be named later

CUSA gets- stAte, LA, ULM, and TxSt

Pretty even trade of programs and all help with geographic realignment.

What percentage of programs need to accept these trades?

I’d be on board with this. Would push the center of the SBC more East and make CUSA look more like a Conference USA with all the Texas schools and such.

The bash ULM, who is a charter member of SBC football, is back. Happy, happy , joy , joy. Such BS. We have been good members and stay relatively competitive, with huge wins over major P5 programs. ULL why don’t you tell us all about all your big P5 wins that look so good for the conference? Forever it was you didn’t want us in the same conference because we shared a name. We literally give you your precious name and that still isn’t good enough. You’d really rather go to Las Cruces, NM than have us that are right in the middle of the West Division?

Yea, I for sure wouldn’t rather go to NMST, but if you want to throw the P5 wins card around, when was the last time you went to a conference Championship in anything Tournament or regular season.

RE: CUSA-SBC member trades
I’m not saying we have set the world on fire, but we are about a middle of the conference team that is competitive and can beat any team in the conference any day in football and men’s basketball and be in the conversation for the championship. Baseball and Softball are coming around, as well as men’s golf and I believe our new women’s basketball team is going to be good. Bottom line is it gets old being the red headed stepchild, when I don’t believe it is deserved. It use to be that our academics weren’t good, but we are now a National Doctoral school and Carnegie RIII school and just added a Med School. We deserve to be in this conference and to be respected as a valuable member instead of a program like la turd that has ? on many charter members of the SBC including the Cajuns and you keep going back for more pandering to them at our expense. It’s embarrassing. Happy 4th my Cajun friend and my sincere condolences on a great coach in Robe.
