Seems like a short term steal for Houston but OKC is lining their pockets with draft picks.
Westbrooks style will mesh better with Hardens game imo.
Long term Westbrooks contract may become an albatross.
Evidently the Heat didn't want to give up Herro and Adebayo in a deal with OKC.
I think it's a terrible fit. Can you imagine Westbrook on the verge of a triple double standing there watching Harden just dribble and then jack up a 3.
Houston simply traded one ball dominant guard for an even more ball dominant guard and thinks it will work better than the previous backcourt partnership?
I just don't know what Houston is doing. I love what OKC is doing though
Yeah, I'm not sure how it's going to work in Houston either.

I would vote neither. Two of my least favorite players in the league. Make almost the same the next 3 years, roughly $38, $41 and $44 million. Then Westbrook makes $46M in '22-'23.
Of the two, Paul's is the worst contract. Tiny guards do not age well, and he's already 34. Has missed roughly 1/3 of last 3 seasons. PER dropped from 26 to 24 to 19. Drtg at 109 last year, highest in his career. And in the playoffs we saw he just can't get by his man anymore. Hope OKC gets stuck with him, and watch his new teammates want to strangle him. Why Miami would want that contract is beyond me.

Exactly what I thought when I read about it. Westbrook and Harden both need the ball in their hands all the time.

They both be like to play uptempo. I think this works for a season or two in Houston.
Four? I'm not so sure.

CP3 liked playing uptempo. The issue is CP3 didn't like watching Harden pound the ball and then jack up 3s. Westbrook isn't going to like it either.
It's a big gamble for Houston, that personally I don't think is going to work.

I guess we will see.
RW is superior to CP3 imo.
The Rockets didn't need much.
They just picked up a big.
Iggy is still available for somebody. Looks like the Grizz want a first rounder.
The Rockets are battling the clock.
Dallas and the Clippers are also interested. Looks like Denver may be out.
I won't be surprised if Iggy is traded at midseason

I think Russ has more left in the tank than CP3. It's a gamble, but I think the Rockets realized it wasn't going to work with Paul, so better to at least try something different.
My concern with the experiment though is that RW has been abysmal from 3 for 2 years running, and the Rockets whole gameplan revolves around knocking down 3s.
I think the Rockets gave up too much, but I get why they pulled the trigger.

If they could have saved us a pick they likely would have landed Iggy.
Looks like a deal for him may not come until mid-season.

Holiday walks to the Pacers. Thanks for giving away picks and players for nothing Mike Wallace.
May have been the worst GM in the NBA

There is some smoke recently around Iguodala possibly being traded to Houston or Denver.

Houston just gave away their entire future to OKC, they don't have much to offer

True but we could pick up Gordon or Tucker, a 1st or two seconds and move them for more assets.

Not quite Woj
Here's one read showing Houston is ready to go over the cap
If this drags out until mid-season cue up Boston and or Philly.
