This isn't about money. It's about Fulmer pissing on his territory.

Val’s can play in LBMS so long as Tigers get all the profits.

Yeah, but it would probably be the "7th home game" thing, which would draw 70k at Neyland, and they can charge more at LB for the far away fans who don't get to go to Neyland. Money might be a wash or maybe slightly in their favor.

I'm one of the ones who went because it was the closest public university with an engineering department and I got a better scholarship than UT-K was offering. That was the days of the 55mph speed limit, so Cookeville was an extra hour or hour-1/2 away, plus I wanted to go to a school with D-1 athletics. And it fit my overall scheme of migrating South and West. (watched too many John Wayne movies I guess)

HELL F'N NO their fans chose to follow a team out of town. So they can travel out of town to see the games.

Won’t happen in next decade if not several more. Tigers could always say we can’t schedule around Heritage Classic and UT game also.
Tigers don't get a say do they? This would be between the city and UT since the city owns the LB.
Tiger's are the primary tenant in an aging stadium who have been a fantastic partner for the city. The city should, and probably will, look after our best interests.
I won't be holding my breath. City should and probably will look after their own best interest.
Got to believe there is a contractual obligation on the part of the LB to support the Memphis schedule as first priority - so in that sense, UM does have a say.

Fat Phil is going to be a colossal failure as AD. Hiring him was such a typical UT move it's laughable. How they have managed to take EVERY built in advantage and still suck for a decade is amazing.

Lots of things change when you get outside the Memphis surrounding counties. Hillbilly quotient goes way up.

Fullmer's 1st objective was to start a conversation about T in M town...
Hook, line and sinker on that one.

Totally agree.
Other than him trying to remember a positive memory of traveling to Memphis in 1996, this has almost no chance of happening and he is just stoking fires. He wants the ut fans in Memphis to be talking about it, but even more to try and put Memphis fans in their place.

Nailed it.

You know.... we in the "surrounding counties" can do without your condescension. I live in a "surrounding county", and I would take any of these fine folks (weather or not they fly a UT flag) over your judgmental myopia. And I effing HATE ut.

Maybe some of it, but not all. For decades, the university largely neglected marketing outside of the "901".

Exactly. Not sure why people are saying the city wouldn't do us wrong. Yes, the city will not hesitate.
