First off, you and Owl numbers (not to pick on you two, but I know you both unlike most other people on this board) like to say time and time again you don't particularly care for Trump but I don't get that sense at all. I think secretly, you both love him but are afraid it wouldn't be cool to be labeled as such.
Other than to put some label on me so that you can argue with that, what is the point of this comment? Your feeling really doesn't matter. I didn't vote for Trump. I think he's a prick.
Quote:As I said earlier, I could have posted more utter nonsense from Trump in Tokyo this weekend (he also said some ridiculous stuff yet again about wind and solar power), but why bother anymore.
So this is why you did it... because you don't want to address what i actually said... and that is that none of what you posted directly refutes what Trump said. It's just not a good argument. Make a better one.
Quote:I've also said earlier that I do believe most people in China and Russia feel the same way we do about the environment. But the leaders of China and Russia make the decisions that are destroying the environment and have much less interference from the everyday population. And the difference between America and those other two countries are we have a much easier opportunity to vote Trump out than people in Russia or China do of getting Putin and Xi Jinping (and their cronies) out of office.
So again, how does this in any way refute what I said? You're admitting that the leaders of these countries make the decisions and they are LESS inclined to be influenced by their populations than ours are.
Quote:There are a lot of companies in America that are doing things above and beyond the Paris Agreement because they want to do what's right for the planet. Even at the sake of corporate profits. And I think companies will continue to do things that make massive differences whether we're in the Paris Agreement or not.
For instance, I bet you the soda and water companies are using completely biodegradable containers within the next 10 years. And other things that clog up the environment will be phased out too.
So in that sense, we don't have to be in the Paris Agreement to be making a difference. But we don't need a leader who is so clueless about science. I truly believe Trump left the Paris Agreement not because he had one clue whether or not it was the right thing to do - he left it because it was one of Obama's legacies and he stands for everything Obama did not.
Again, other than a forum for you to talk bad about Trump (Orange man bad) what is the point of this. I agree that our population is more sensitive and more in control than the Russians or the Chinese. If these companies don't need the Paris accord to do good things, then why sign on to it?
You're simultaneously arguing that we don't need the Paris accords to make a difference while arguing that we can't have a leader who doesn't support it. Who gives a damn why Trump doesn't support something you admit we don't need?
That makes zero logical sense to me.
Trump may well be an idiot when it comes to science, I couldn't care less. I'd only care if his goal was to make me follow HIS rules as opposed to my own. If he came out and said that the way to fix this problem is to pollute MORE and he put mandates in that required that we do so, I'd be very upset. If we don't need Paris (and I agree that we don't) then why is this something you care so much about protecting? Who gives a damn about a Trump/Obama ***** measuring contest? I care about actually doing something
