UCONN and Toledo
Which future nonconference game would you be willing to sacrifice to help UCONN fill out an independent schedule if asked. If INDY is the route they go they will need four games, two road and two home. Would not need to be date specific as the MAC could slot a conference game there. This topic is more possible than the AAC thread

Yep, clear the slate of FCS schools... 04-rock
That was a pathetic 3 year stretch of FCS teams coming in to the GB...

Sign a two away games for one home game with UCONN...

The catch? UCONN has to send either their men’s or women’s basketball teams to Savage and we still get to play the other one on their home court.

Great idea. They're in straights schedule wise, I'd like to see UT offer the home for home straight up in exchange for the basketball. Honestly, our basketball is a valid competitor. If they'll buy-off the FCS team, even better. They are THE state school in a de-facto NY market. They have the money.

Why not have them replace Central Connecticut? Have Central play us on Friday as a warmup, then we play UConn on Saturday. The two Conns can share travel expenses and get to see a college game free. Everybody wins.

I certainly agree with having UCONN replace Central Connecticut...that game should have been a "game 1" of the season, not a "game 4". I don't see much that can be gained by playing Central Connecticut as the warm-up game for the MAC season.

The travel is too costly. Besides, everybody knows you can't just play UCONN. You have to sit around and wait to be invited to play UCONN.

Strictly form a fans perspective, I can remember how obnoxious and condescending their fans were after they stomped us in the MCB in '04. They were right up there with Marshall fans. For that reason I don't care about playing them, even if we would stomp them back, and I hope the MAC doesn't offer them a lifeline. Let the drop to DII.

I have to take back what I said about UConn. As I look at the MCB history, actually, it was Boston College whose fans were so obnoxious after the beatdown in 2002. So, that being said, as far as UConn, I'm fine with scheduling them. As far as bringing them into the conference, I have a feeling it would be one of those situations where they stick around until their recruiting and coaching improves and they would be gone, just like several others.

You were correct the first time. My experience at the MCB was that UConn fans were arrogant and obnoxious.
