RE: Harvey Commits!
i don't think i'm guilty of that all too often. i occasionally like to, provocateur, this is true. as i've thus demonstrated. i'm not even saying running kids off is bad. what i'm certainly not saying is that if harvey fell thru, after all the build up, amidst all aired transgressions, i'd be a happy camper. i'm f*ckin stoked for hoops season and the reign of brannen

Brannen went after a kid that Cronin wouldn't have bothered with if he were still here. Kid is probably a legit player and will pay big dividends.
Big risks can give big rewards.
I like the way Brannen thinks.

Also liked in his recent interview when asked if being at UC gives him better access to more coaches than he had at NKU. He answered with class (didn't denigrate NKU in the process) by saying UC doesn't give more access to coaches, but because of the brand/history/tradition of UC, there isn't as much explaining to do with coaches, "whether it opens up more doors for us [vs nku] or not doesn't matter because we are going to knock them [the doors] down anyway."
So we go from timid recruiting rabbit that shackled himself and created a self fulfilling prophecy while making excuses on what couldn't be to a coach who see's UC as a high major program and says they plan on knocking doors down (in recruiting). What a great change and breath of fresh air for UC hoops.

RE: Harvey Commits!
From Rivals recruiting analyst Dan MaDonald:
"This one doesn’t rise to the immediate impact of Blackshear to Florida, but four-star guard Zach Harvey choosing Cincinnati is a really big deal for John Brannen as he starts his tenure with the Bearcats. He’s a complete scorer who can play either guard spot in college at 6-foot-4. Don’t be surprised if he ends up at the top of the American Athletic Conference in scoring before long."

RE: Harvey Commits!
If Harvey goes on a similar path to Jarron, I'll be very happy. 6th man as a freshman > Starter and #2 option on offense > Conference POTY as a junior. Also, we were (understandably) concerned that we lost Samari Curtis, but Harvey looks like an upgrade. Would love to have both of course, but CJB has really righted the ship since the initial defections.

RE: Harvey Commits!
So UC gets a top 50ish guard.
Another school out west gets excuses.
