Also expect an announcement soon of another road game against a former conference mate. I think older Blazers will like that matchup.

Not looking for an answer but I’ll play the guessing game for when we revisit the topic.

Quote:Chasing Ghosts: DePaul's sad journey from name brand to also-ran

This week, the "Chasing Ghosts" series continues with the DePaul Blue Demons, who were a college basketball heavyweight under the legendary Ray Meyer but have reached the NCAA tournament just twice in the past 26 seasons.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...-brand-ran

DePaul may be the most important opponent that quickly legitimized our program from the very beginning. In the late 80s, DePaul was a national powerhouse, a consistent top ten, usually top five program.

Totally by chance, Coach Bartow was on a flight with DePaul Coach Ray Meyer in 1978. During their conversation, Coach Meyer told Coach Bartow to let him know if there was anything he could do to assist with getting our program off the ground. Coach Bartow replied, Well, you could play us. And play us they did, signing a 9 year home and home series (5 in Chicago, 4 in Birmingham). DePaul was coming off 27-3 season and a #3 final ranking. To sign that deal was almost unfathomable.

While our Blazers only won 1 of those 9 games, the majority were on television including a classic in January of 1980. That night DePaul came into the game at the BJCC 16-0 and ranked #1 in the country. A over capacity crowd of 17,309 watched the second-year Blazers come oh so close to knocking the top-ranked Blue Demons off the top of the college basketball mountain, losing a 57-54 heart breaker.

The crowd that night remains, to this day, the largest to ever attend a college basketball game in the State of Alabama.

St. Louis or Marquette is his guess.

We hope we have a team that can compete.

We need a practice facility for basketball, live in dorms for the players, and candy in the players lounge at Bartow

Take a hence( get a clue)

Will knot do this again lol

The only in state school I would schedule an in season home and home against. Might create a little rivalry.
