Quote:MTSU – vs Duke, Saturday, September 14th
It’s Duke, whose fans don’t care about Duke football, vs Middle Tennessee, whose fans don’t care about Middle Tennessee! The attendance for this game will be a beautiful sight to see.

Holy cow, I can't believe MTSU is doing 3 pay games. I wonder what their thought process around that is. Surely they don't need the money so badly that they are cool with pretty much going into season with an 0-3 hole to dig out of before they even play a game.
I think it is really cool that both Virginia and Virginia Tech will play ODU. I am excited to hopefully get back to playing Troy every year. Playing in state schools would be so much fun now that we are actually competitive.

The examples of P5 programs playing (and thereby supporting) their instate G5 brothers grow every year EXCEPT IN ALABAMA. Terry Bowden invited UAB to play Auburn in 1996 and we have not been invited back by any other coach.(Now one such is running for the U.S. Senate in 2020)

I didn't realize we have the easiest ranked schedule in the nation.

The bottom teams in the west are really bad. I’m okay with an easy schedule for one more season. Last years wasn’t anything special either.

Kinda have the past two years.
Wish we play an old school 2 buy games a year schedule for money and the chance to knockoff P5’s.

I'd be okay with 2 buy games if we could get an SEC team and a team like Rutgers. I don't want to see us playing two powerhouse teams however. It also helps build confidence when you can come through the OOC slate with a winning or .500 record, and we don't take the physical beating. I think in a few years when we have quality depth it might be time to take a couple of shots at big boys, but I'm good with the current scheduling philosophy.

Our new AD recently confirmed future serieses with USM, Memphis, WKU and Army + that we are currently working on future deals with 2 CUSA schools (one of them could be LA Tech however, both ADs go way back and are pretty good friends)...I hope the other one is either UAB or Marshall.

I agree for me around 2021 or 2024 for me I’m fine with the easy schedules for now

Auburn at least plays with other Alabama G5 teams
Alabama just stingy (plays out of state teams instead)
Maybe we are a team that will give them a game not just for a paycheck and statpadding for the draft.
