Could the football gods be smiling on Liberty
UCONN will be in dire need of football games in 2020 as well as money. Currently, Liberty has two home FCS games for 2020. Would Liberty be willing to move one those games to a future date 2023. Schedule to play UCONN at Home in 2020 for return Home games for 2023 2024 or 25 (If Liberty doesn't want to play back to back years at home) Seems like a no brainer and not like UCONN can demand alot of money for this option.

Right now 2020 has only 3 home games which one is FCS. Get Liberty for 4th game and they probably UCONN needs to schedule another FCS for 5th home game. Liberty could even possibly squeeze a third game by offering to cover the difference for NC A&T to head up there as the FCS home game and move them to a future date. So they don't have to buyout the game.

Liberty, Umass, and NMSU are definitely the big winners here

ODU has an opening in 2020 and already have 6 home games. Current OOC for 2020:

Wake Forest
UVA
@UNC

We'll travel to UCONN in 2020 in the first game of a H&H if UCONN agrees to the same for MBB. And hopefully WBB since they will be desperate.

I mean, I have no doubt that Liberty can and will get an ongoing series with UConn, but I'm not sure if you're suggesting that Liberty's going to get a 3 for 1? I very much doubt that's how it goes. More likely they sign a traditional four year series.

Offering you the ideas to get 2-1 for liberty. But the visit by Due 3-2 and get a basketball H/H. Helps UCONN in 2020 for a home game. Liberty gets a 2-1 deal and possible B-ball h/h. Losing one home game for 2 home games in return seems alike a deal. She

If you could stoke a religious conservative vs. east coast liberal cultural battle that would spill over onto the football field it would be an entertaining rivalry for sure.

Unless they want to write a very large check.

RE: Could the football gods be smiling on Liberty
While it may not seem like it right now, I don't expect that UConn will need to use basketball games as bait to put together a viable football schedule. I was able to create a schedule for the Huskies for 2020 just by moving a few opponents of other independents to other dates that were already open on their schedules. It took me less than an hour.

Independence isn't likely to be as hard as it looks. And if, as some are speculating, Navy were to follow suit with the AAC's blessing, all the indies would have a much easier path to a suitable schedule.

I don't think the Liberty folks would be too happy to hear talk of other gods, even football ones that like them.
