Updated football roster
Spivey is on the current roster as a late add. Updated weights. Missing a few JUCOs yet.

A couple notable weight changes, Eddington is down 23 pounds to #329 and Oakes is up 24 pounds to #252.

I think both are very positive.

Oakes could be a very good tight end. Hopefully he sees a few more passes this year.

One offensive line JUCO and Speight at LB.

This was another late addition from Georgia high schools.

Wonder is he was a prop 48 since he graduated in 2018?

Updated football roster
So amongst the newcomers (new recruits and redshirts) who will contribute this season? Ill take a guess with Bates, Howie, and Dooley on the OL, Ramirez at DE, Burks at LB, Lafeur and Hernandez at DB, and Mackey at RB. It will be interesting to see if one of those true freshman RBs gets into the rotation.

Also curious of what Vann's role will be.

RE: Updated football roster
Not going to lie, looking through that roster got me super jacked for the season. There some unknowns but it seems like there is clearly talent in place to pickup where others have left off.

It's fun to see our program grow into an actual program where players develop.

Who wears #2?

My vote is for Vann to wear #2.

#2 is reserved for the best WR so doubt it'll be him. Don't think he's capable of making that switch like Banham.

Also, remember that we have Eddie Daugherty returning this year as well. He had some moments were he looked pretty good in the slot in 2016/2017. I think he will be the most likely candidate to fill the role of Banham. So we likely won't need to Vann to move over.

I keep forgetting about him. He should wear #2.

I'm high on Dooley and Howie. Both I think will get significant reps. I also think Vann plays but I'm more interested in seeing if Banham gets any touches. Can get up to 3-4 games and keep a redshirt right?

Yes.

I haven't heard a good discussion on how to 'play' the new redshirt rules, but I would think there are two trains of thought for true frosh:

1). Play them early during the OOC games especially against lesser opponents.

2). Have them practice during the season as it they would redshirt (old rules) but play them late in the season when injuries might be taking the toll on others.

And, of course, one could come up with a hybrid approach: Play them two games against weak OOC opponents and then have them play late in the season as needed, but keep the redshirt eligibility.

And, if the true frosh has mature abilities and depth is a real problem at his position, they can take the redshirt off during the season and play him as his abilities warrant.
