Good question. Mods actually ban UC fans but not a Cryami Troll.

sorry Miami but the Big East is only 1/2 of what it was wheb UL, SYRACUSE, UC, the old UCONN, Notre Dame, etc were in it. UCONN men's team lost it's magic from back then and no significance now. Enjoy a league where a perennial mddle of the pack team like Villanova now rules that league.

it would have made more sense to make fun of his when the shi first went down. while the hoops will miss uconn, let's be fo reals, it's a watered down product. be perhaps uconn's like one of those dehydrated meals i take backpacking reanimating under hot water. in a way. the big east is only relevant because of the name. nova's the only reason why the league's in a slightly higher tier than us
still think ed cooley made a big mistake passing up michigan

Nothing like an x fan masquerading as a miami grad. The Jesuit false trail. Given we've beat them 9 or 10 times in a row, and the football game has turned into a scrimmage where we play about everyone on the bench it might be best for both parties at this point. Unless Jim Cahoun is coming back they'll likely be back in the middle of the pack in the big east somewhere they've struggled to be lately in the AAC.

He's a troll but the OP is a legit Miami fan (one of the few that are left).

Put it on realignment board
Disappointed this thread got deleted. The first response in it was tremendous. Random poster no affiliation with either school joked about how much UC dominates Miami in football.

Regardless of trolling or the source, this post is accurate and depressing.
But let me provide you with a trolling tip: you should have said "in a league with ECU". Tulsa isn't the worst program in the conference historically. In fact, they have better ncaa tourney history than 90% of the MAC schools. They would probably rule the MAC. ECU on the other hand....
This.
It's highly depressing. If I were a Miami fan or Xavier fan or a tri-state OSU fan, I'd be gloating too.

The fact that Xavier is considered the one who plays in a "Big Boy Conference" with UC being in a "mid-major" is complete Bizzaro world when you consider the resources we have, our history, brand strength nationally, media exposure, alumni base, size of the schools, corporate partners, etc. Heck, XU gets bumped on the radio dial if their games are being played at the same time as UC.
I can't think of any situation quite like it. Villanova outshines Temple in Philly but the Wildcats have a better history, larger fan base, the corporate backing, etc.

The Big East isn't a "Big Boy" conference. It's a tweener conference like the AAC. Because of Villanova (and not having ECU/Tulane) it's been more successful in recent years, but both leagues are far behind the "big boy" leagues in resources and reach (and significantly above the other leagues in resources and reach).

You and I know that, but go ask a random person on the street their perceptions of the two conferences. Heck go ask many sports media members. In hindsight, the AAC made a mistake in selling off the name of the conference to the C7. The current group still gets a lot of the juice from the legacy left behind by the schools that left for the ACC+WVU, UC.

I would imagine that Houston has the same dynamic with Baylor?
Baylor football was awful before Art Briles. They'd actually have an all-time losing record if it weren't for his 8 years there. And Baylor basketball is the worst P5 program not named Northwestern or TCU.

While both are in east Texas, the schools are separated by at least a 2.5 hour drive (although Baylor College of Medicine is in Houston).

It was for a long time but there was a split about 40 years ago and it is now its own entity.

UConn is basically the millennial that tried it on their own and has now given up and moved back into their mom's basement.
The Big CYO can have them.
