RE: Welcome home...
Ha! Thanks again.

NKU is an old Bellarmine rival (the joke among us BU fans was that the Norse moved up to D-I because they were sick of losing to the Knights). I imagine that series will resume on an out-of-conference basis, sooner rather than later.

P.S. It's funny how things work out. I remember perusing this site several times over the years when the Bellarmine-to-Division I rumors would fire up.

RE: Welcome home...
Although I am on record (as Stalker) of not being a big fan of the D1 move, I am excited and hopeful we get to see some basketball this fall. Missing the Knights final run in the D2 tournament has been the worse part of the pandemic for me (I am very fortunate so far, don't want to belittle others real suffering.) I have been into social distancing all my life and BU basketball is about the only social thing I really like. I am hoping that the school will prove me wrong about D1. Going to be tough seeing the team lose a lot more in the first couple of years.

I'm seeing some new BU fans! Great to see you all on the ASUN message boards.

I am quite confident Bellarmine will do well in D1 and the ASUN. I’m not as confident as I was at the beginning of last season. The cupboard seems kinda bare right now. But I trust Scotty to get the most out of his team.
I am so thankful and excited to have Bellarmine in the ASUN. I grew up in the Highlands and use to play on the BU campus as a kid. My brother took some classes there and an old high school buddy works at Bellarmine now.

Yours truly has been hoping for a D-I move for years, and I am still giddy over it.

Sure, it won't be fun to see more losses than we've seen in the recent past; but, as I've said on the D-II board and especially with the pandemic wrecking havoc on the economy, this is about more than basketball. This move should increase, or at least stabilize enrollment, and bring in some more funds -- I fear a number of good, but not well known, institutions are going to have to shut their doors. And Bellarmine's name recognition rising nationally will add to the value of our degrees.

Besides, one day (hopefully) making the D-I tournament will be just as exciting as winning the D-II title, which, if we're honest, only us hardcore fans really cared about and didn't cause much of a "blip" on the sports radar.

Are y’all essentially making this your home board? I know y’all were over on the D2 board but is there another one with more Bellarmine fans?

Yeah, this seems to be it, including all of us jokers who used to haunt the old D-II board (which I rarely visit anymore).
