I think this is the smart thing to do. I'm sure all the usual suspects declined (BYU, Army, MWC schools) and they didn't want to settle. Wait for the Big 12 to be potentially raided leading up to their 2025 grant of rights/media deal expiration and then see if any AAC schools get poached and need to refill.

I am curious what the AAC will do for a conference championship game. A conference either needs two divisions that play a round robin or the whole conference plays a round robin. They likely don't want the whole conference to play a round robin as that will leave them with two non-conference games and that is a non-starter for Navy as I'm sure it is for others. Doing a round robin with uneven divisions is a major pain and requires some schools to not play 8 conference games.

I'm being flippant and just goofing around, but BU has averaged close to 2K fans in D-II, and I think that number may go up somewhat in the ASUN.

That year y’all averaged a little over 1700. I expect y’all to be around 2k now. This past year I think we averaged in the high 2k range maybe 2750ish I’d have to check again.
