UConn to rejoin Big East
ESPN is reporting today that UConn is set to leave the American Athletic Conference and rejoin the Big East beginning in 2020.

This could leave the UConn football program looking to join the MAC as a football-only member. If the MAC was also able to add Army West Point as a football-only member, it would be worth expanding. Otherwise, UMass, I'm sure, would love to return to the MAC with UConn.

If this were to happen, BGSU would return to the MAC West for football and the conference would have two 7-team divisions with two crossover games in an 8-game conference slate.

As for the AAC, they could look to Army as well to backfill UConn, but I would think either ODU or UAB from C-USA for full membership would be a strong possibility. Then C-USA could add James Madison as a replacement.

FIRE UP CHIPS! :)
