While I understand that coaches might prefer not to play another triple option opponent, I'm guessing they won't have a say in who's added if anyone nor will it be considered.

I guess UConn didn’t accept the P6 cookie or the new contract.

I kinda have a soft spot for UAB. why not!

I have a soft spot for Southern Miss, so why not them too since we are going that route

They did win a national title once.

A very depressing thread. The replacements for UCONN are not exciting and you know you're not in a good conference when the prevailing thoughts for replacements are: UAB, USM, Georgia State, Army.

If Army let's us, take them. At least they have SOME name recognition, and probably would want to remain in the Patriot League (or whatever league they are in for BB).

If we had a good replacement for UCONN we would have never taken Tulsa.

I think Army would be a good natural pick, because AAC already has Navy. If we could also get Air Force, that would be good for ratings and attendance for Memphis and the AAC.

Stay the way we are. Rather than dilute ourselves, it's the best idea.

That's my final answer.

Wichita evens out Navy. Army would add another unbalanced member, needing evening out. Not that I'm against it.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but Jarvis reported that UConn’s exit fee was $10M with 2 years notice. More if less than 2 years but he didn’t say how much. Anyone know? Would like to stick it to those snotty SOBs.

A Houston article I was looking at said:

Quote:The AAC's bylaws require a $10 million exit fee and 27 months' notice before leaving, which means UConn will need to do some negotiating.

Good find. Why don’t we have a beat writer who can break it down like this?

We actually have several beat writers and talkers who do break it down just like this. There is absolutely nothing in the article that hasn't been written or spoken on radio in the last 48 hours.

Probably so. But J&J totally missed the tv contract impact on the radio yesterday. They thought it would be significant, when there actually is no impact.

What does that mean no impact? The current teams will still make 7 mil and they wil deduct the 84mil that UConn would have made during that time. Or no impact as in, the deal remains exactly the same so each school will get an increase of around 700k per year for splitting UConn's money, plus another 1 time payment of around 1mil for the exit fee?

I don’t listen to sports radio so that leaves me with newspapers and local tv sports. First I’ve heard of part of it was Jarvis. DM and CA missed the gist of the story.
