We have been paying for everything else over and above as it is since the return and that is for all sports, not just football. We will cover that as well.

Parker's comments in this CBS 42 story says he's going to introducing a resolution in the next two weeks announcing the city's support for a conference move.

Don't think for a minute that story and Mark's response weren't coordinated

The city's actions and the statement of support from the BOT seems like enough smoke to indicate there's work going on behind the scenes on UAB's end which is encouraging. But ultimately the AAC would still need to decide to add a team.

Very true. I also think that if there were no interest from the AAC they would quietly let us know don't bother

Who knows at this point. UB does seem like a great fit though. Bad time for us to become completely irrelevant in basketball.

That should have been done before the AAC AD's get together this weekend.

I really don't expect anything to happen in the near term. I could be wrong and the AAC issues an invitation during their conference meeting, but I think the league will sit tight and take a long look before they make a move.

None of us are positioned to know what's happening behind the scenes. All we can do is hope that the university president and the AD are doing the right thing for us. There are reasons that they might be sincerely busting it to make it happen, but there are also reasons for the UAB faithful to have their doubts.

Buffalo has that AAU membership going for them. I wish UAB did.

It's surprising that UAB isn't an AAU member given it's research strength.
