Flashback Friday #2
Flashback Friday #2

This one is Troy vs. #17 Missouri from 2004.

This is one of the biggest wins for the program. Missouri was one of the Big 12 preseason favorites, and had a Heisman candidate in QB Brad Smith. Even better was that the game was on national TV during primetime, with Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit doing color commentary, and Mike Tirico doing play-by-play. Probably the main reason this game was on national TV was so Brad Smith could be on display. Troy foiled that though...

That lineman could run pretty good. Got a kick of seeing the Movie Gallery on the field.

shutting up those Alabama announcers was hilarious.

actually thinking back, I remember the young guy wasn't too bad. the old homer was pretty terrible.

That lateral by the StAte QB around 5:30 was beautiful... I love a good lateral against a defender.

This 31-7 win over Tulsa team was stAte's final game at college football's highest level (D-1A) until returning in 1992.

stAte moved up to D-1 in 1975 and remained through the 1981 season.

Worth it to watch Dickey Bird one more time.
