RE: Tigers' AAC home and away games announced
Cincy basketball for the 2019-20 season:

Key returners:
  • Jarron Cumberland 6'5"Senior Guard averaged 32.5 mpg, 18.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.6 apg 38.8% 3pt. Conference player of the year.
  • Keith Williams 6’5” Junior Guard averaged 25.9 mpg, 9.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 27.6% 3pt
  • Tre Scott 6'8" 225lb Senior Forward - 30.6 mpg, 9.3 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 30.8% 3pt
  • Mamoudou Diarra 6'9" 215lb RS Sophomore Forward averaged 6.9 mpg, 2.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg

Gone:
  • Justin Jenifer Guard averaged 26.1 mpg, 8.6 ppg, 2.9 apg, 44.4% 3pt
  • Cane Broome Guard averaged 21.2 mpg, 8.3 ppg, 2.2 apg, 28.7% 3pt
  • Nysier Brooks 6'11" 240lb Center averaged 22.9 mpg, 8.1 ppg, 6.3 rpg
  • Rashawn Fredericks Guard - 10.3 mpg, 2.3 ppg, 2.2 rpg

New players:
  • Jaevin Cumberland 6'3" Senior Guard, Jarron's cousin averaged 17.2 ppg and 3.5 apg for Oakland last year. Eligible to play this year.
  • Mika Adams-Woods 6'3" Combo guard ranked 237 in the country by 247 sports
  • Jeremiah Davenport 6'5" SG unranked by 247 sports
  • Jaume Sorolla 7' 240lb Center - grad transfer from Valparasio averaged 5.2 ppg and 4.4 rpg
  • Chris McNeal - 6'1" Guard - grad transfer from Tennessee Tech. He sat out last year after transferring from New Mexico where he averaged 9.5 ppg and 2.7 apg
  • Prince Toyambi 6'7" 225lb RS Freshman Forward
  • Chris Vogt 6'9" 200lb Center- transfer from NKU will have to sit a year

Key addition will be Jaevin Cumberland. Jenifer, Broome and Brooks are some pretty big losses. Brooks probably hurts the most since they appear to be a light on the inside.

What's happening with Dexter Dennis? I think WSU will be ok and still be dangerous.

He's there, along with Jaime Echenique.

WSU lost their only two double digit scorers. Rod Brown transferred, as did their backup PG. Now they lose Allen.

So, essentially the 5th or 6th best team last year in the AAC lost their two best players, lost two expected backups, and now lost the guy who was presumably going to be their best player.

OTHO, they had the third best recruiting class in the AAC and the 40th highest in college basketball. And, according to WSU fans, they have a coach that turns straw into gold. 03-talktothehand

Yeah. The "3rd best" recruiting class in the AAC was two JUCO's and three frosh rated 137, 213, and 301.

I always thought that Enriche and Dennis were their best players. If they improve they should be ok. I still would have them 5th or 6th and the game won’t be easy especially if we play at their place in January

Echenique averaged 9 ppg and 6 rpg last year.
As a JUCO freshman he averaged 9 and 5
As a JUCO sophomore he averaged 9 and 6

He's a decent player but seems to be pretty limited. 5th or 6th for them should be about right. I am thinking something like 1. Memphis, 2. Cincy, 3. Houston 4. USF, 5. UConn, 6. Wichita State now.

It was only 2 short years ago we'd be wondering if maybe we could get him here.

I don't recall that at all.

Wichita State forward Rod Brown announces plans to transfer after freshman season

Forward Rod Brown announced on his Twitter account on Thursday evening that he is transferring from the Wichita State men’s basketball program following his redshirt freshman season.

The program held meetings this week between the players and coaches to discuss the past season and the future. Brown’s announcement to transfer comes one day after guard Ricky Torres also announced he was transferring for his senior season.

In 36 games this past season, Brown averaged 1.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.1 minutes per game. The Memphis native came to Wichita State hailed as a three-star prospect by Rivals and a four-star prospect by ESPN.

During his redshirt year, Brown added 30 pounds of muscle onto his 6-foot-6 frame while working closely with strength and conditioning coach Kerry Roosenboom. Brown played this past season at 215 pounds.

But Brown struggled to find a role for the Shockers last season. He was a touch undersized to guard the post at 6-6 and 215 and his outside shot is still a work in progress, so it was difficult to play him on the perimeter.

The highlighted paragraph describes what the consensus on this board felt about Brown coming out of Cordova HS.
