Well, there's no question who the worst writer is at the CA...that title goes to Evan Barnes.

Toolbag Tillery was by far the worse.

Yep he was awful for the Griz as well. I don't think someone could purposefully be as boring.

I didn’t care for him but I think he was having health issues or something. May be wrong

So has the CA even said they plan on replacing Drew Hill? Or are they just giving up now?

Jason Munz has been elevated (at least temporarily).

He wrote an article in today's CA:

Jordan lost the coveted and career enhancing Tiger basketball gig. What happen?

according to him, he'd rather cover football

Stated reasons do not always align with actual reasons and the stated reason makes little sense for an ambitious young man looking to make his mark on the national stage. I speculate there is more to the story. Regardless, I welcome more Tiger coverage.

Yeah I suspect JJ didn't willingly give up a premo job with as much visibility as Tigers bb will generate this year. I guess the DM decided they wanted a full-timer covering Penny and the team. And they determined JJ was best at football.

The CA hasn't canned any of the people who have ended up at the DM. They are leaving to get away from Gannett.

Jordan > Barnes

I know for a fact that Penny didn’t like what Jonah did. And thus he was going to be shut out.

The first column I remember him writing was titled, "We need to retire this penny", which was about forced retirement for Penny.

Tillery did not like Memphis from the get go. You could hear his disdain for the city every time he opened his mouth. He wrote pretty good though.

That quote was from his god awful morning show with Edmiston.

It was around 2008 when the Tigers were selling out every game and the Griz were averaging 12k.

He was a butthurt POS about that.

When I heard him say that I never listened to the show again.

Edmiston's show now is even worse.

The CJ guy with him is awful. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard and his obnoxious, scratchy laugh is even worse. And he laughs at every damned thing like it's the funniest thing he's ever heard. Only problem is Edmiston or nothing else on the show is funny. Ever.

I can't believe it's still on the air. The ratings must be pathetic.

That show has made me search for something else on the drive to work.

I discovered that Clay Travis is on 790.

Pretty good show.

Yep. I KEEP trying to give the show a chance, but the CJ dude is a low grade Stephen A. Smith and he does zilch for show prep.

Says dumb*** things off the cuff--the crap you would overhear at a sports bar that makes no damn sense.
