I'm glad to see this happen. Helping launch the Mechanical Engineering program at EMU was one of the last projects I worked on before taking a job at another University. If Creighton was a good get for the football program, Dr. Qatu is Creighton on steroids for the College of Engineering and Technology.

This is an example of why I think EMU"s leadership is on track. It's basic business, money needs to flow where demand dictates it needs to.
JL Hudson was once a very admired corporation, an American iconic department store to be sure. Then they found out that there was greater customer demand for their upscale discount stores that were experimentally named Target. They renamed the company to Target, got rid of the Hudson logo and are thriving today.
Information and technology are hot! Liberal arts are not. If the guy running it is great, let's pay him and hopefully keep him around.
