Toronto Parade
Gasol having a good time.
I do wonder if we ever win a championship how this city would respond.

RE: Toronto Parade
When you see so many situations where management or coaches screw things up, it is amazing how Toronto handled every single element of the deal with Kawhi perfectly from the day the trade was made, to the parade yesterday. Also, unlike every other single situation like it, Kawhi will be revered forever in Toronto even if he does end up leaving.
So many in Canada are jealous of Toronto and bash it every chance they get. I spent 10 years of my life there, still go back regularly, and have many friends that spend time here in Montreal. It is an incredible city; unique in many ways. You would be hard pressed to find a city of its size, with so much going on, affordable by global standards, that is so accessible, so clean, with relatively a tiny amount of crime for its size.
Estimates are that there were between 1.5 and 2 million at the parade. I did a little research and it seems like San Antonio's parade in 2014 had 100,000 outside and 75,000 inside the Alamo Dome. My friends who were at the parade, everyone publicly and the players are saying that it was one of the most incredible things that they have ever witnessed. Will everything be enough to keep Kawhi? Probably not, but for sure team management, the entire season, the city and the parade yesterday were great recruiting tools for every single NBA player and potential free agent.

It's a 5 hour drive, so no I didn't. My brother lives in Toronto and went, and his son, my nephew drove out there to attend it. Most of my friends in Toronto went and said that it was incredible.
The dynamic between Montreal and Toronto is Montreal historically hating Toronto and being very insecure about it. It is actually like that throughout a lot of the country. I remarked to all my friends that the thought of Montrealers cheering for anything to do with Toronto would have been unthinkable, 20, 10 and even 5 years ago.
To see this many people closing down 2 Montreal streets to cheer for a Toronto team, a Toronto anything is mind boggling.

He's drunk after finally winning an NBA title on a float in a parade in front of 2 million people. You're drunk in your bathrobe watching soap operas on a tube tv.
So there's that...
