Seeing all of these bands is depressing when compared to the garbage they put out nowadays.

There are a ton of websites that track music act booking costs, and most seem to cite Priceonomics, a data website, so here you go. Pick your favorite and see what it will cost you ... if you can get on their tour sked. As for the Convo, if you book 0, it costs $0.

Also, a feature on promotions, booking, problems, etc, just for your interest ...

Fleetwood Mac was the 1974 NIU homecoming concert.

I was at this concert on 10/26/74 at the less-than-sold-out Chick Evans with some other buddies who were Fleetwood Mac fans.

This was Mac with Bob Welch on lead guitar ("Sentimental Lady" was a later solo single for him) - before Buckingham and Nicks.

Think of albums like "Future Games" and "Bare Trees." These are still among my favorite Mac albums.

I was at the Marshall Tucker show - I think it was December 1974 or 1975. The Charlie Daniels Band opened. We saw their roadies stocking up on refreshments beforehand at the “Bottle” Store by Sgt. Peppers and Appletree.

December '74. Was at that concert. Loud and great. Fieldhouse was packed. Charlie Daniels Band released the album "Fire on the Mountain" (which eventually went platinum) the month before.

Anyone see Joe Jackson in the ballroom at the student center '82 or '83? Excellent show. Kinks were great, too. Was a big fan. Good memories for sure!

The Egyptian theatre in downtown DeKalb also hosted musical talent. I remember Journey and Heart playing there in the late 70's. Probably a fair guess that some of the bars downtown hosted local bands from the area that eventually gained some national attention as well.

I saw Rockford's own Cheap Trick in the Field House in 1985 or 86. My ears are still ringing--loudest concert ever!

I saw Jackson Brown, Phoebe Snow, War, and others in the 1970s. Those concerts were fun and great to attend. It’s a shame that such great entertainment is somewhat lacking at NIU these days. Smart phones and ear buds have taken everything over.

Saw Deep Throat at the Student Center back in the 70s during Porn Week. Can you imagine using public funds to show porn movies in the current times.

03-old Can you imagine, all these kids today have no idea what it’s like to grow up without easily accessible porn.

(And while the music was better then, gotta admit, today’s porn is better.) 04-jawdrop

Rugby Team had porno movies for fundraising. Wanda whips wall street was one. We made good money.

I was so naive, I thought the billing on one of the shows at the student center in ‘83 said National Lampoon’s Frat House. I gathered my floor buddies from Grant and we headed off. While standing in the long, long line freeezing our butts off, I looked again. Ohhhh, National Lamporn. The student association raised a bunch of money that night.
