I didn't even bring up that Tech cheated at that time to inflate its stature nor the other obvious elephant in the room. Without the Big 12, Tech may equal Cincinnati minus the Big East years (not so much on the court).

LOL, I wish UH all the success in the world. Hopefully someday, UH can play in a big boy power conference instead of the small private schools that took your spot.04-cheers

We're doing fine without it. Twice in the last decade, UH could have played for the national title with an undefeated record.

But I didn't mean to turn this into a piss fest (UH is just my team).

Kansas could have played for the national title with an undefeated record. So could Oregon State and Rutgers. Just saying.

2009 and 2016. Most would agree but honestly who cares. Good luck to Tech (sincerely) but my point stands.

He implied that not being in a Big Boys conference relegated UH to irrelevance. Not as much as it seems.

Texas Tech played for a NC vs Virginia in basketball.
Texas Tech won a Men's T&F National Championship last weekend in Austin.
Texas Tech is the only Texas school playing for national title in baseball.

Wells better fix the football program fast. Our haters base everything on football success despite their lack of success.

Texas Tech in basketball had the great fortune of Jarrett Culver rising from unheralded to a top 5 lottery pick. The odds of that happening again anytime soon is not very high. Texas Tech is very likely to slide back into borderline tournament team and so-so football. Virginia also is seeing their squad gutted by the NBA draft.

I think a 5 year floating average is a far better indicator, a ten year even better.

I realize you have an agenda but I guess you forgot about Texas Tech true freshman Zhaire Smith being taken in the 1st round of last years NBA draft? Tech lost Zhaire Smith( 16th pick in the NBA) plus Keenan Evans (playing NBA G-League), Justin Gray (playing professionally in the UK) and Zach Smith(playing the NBA G-League).

Even with Culver returning, Texas Tech was picked 7th in the Big 12 last season.
https://texastech.com/news/2018/10/19/me...-poll.aspx

Culver has moved on to the NBA draft. Texas Tech lost Brandone Francis, Tariq Owens, Matt Mooney and Norense Odiase to graduation.

Tech recruited the 16th best class in the country and picked up a couple grad transfers in TJ Holyfield(SFA) and Chris Clarke( Va. Tech) that should contribute like Owens and Mooney did last season.

https://247sports.com/college/texas-tech...l/Commits/

Go ahead and think we might fall back but I have a feeling Chris Beard will change some minds with the group we have coming back, the grad transfers and the 16th best recruiting class in the country.

Chris Beard is starting his 4th season at Tech so 5 year averages won't work with your agenda.
