OK, I'm thinking about it. How is him being a lame duck - which he would only be if he wins a second term making him unelectable again - going to make it possible for him to refuse to vacate the office?
Yes, it's a HUGE stretch to bring it up because regardless of who is occupying the office, short of an armed coup no one is staying one night longer than allowed.

Obviously. This is just Bill Maher being an absolute idiot.
He's not the only one that's been saying it. I believe even Fearless Nancy made remarks about him not leaving. Or maybe they're saying he would try to run an actual "deep state" after he's gone(?)

You do realize that Everytime you say Trump won't or didn't do something you end up looking foolish, right?

Now, where could have Maher ever gotten a silly idea like this from, huh?
Quote:Trump has expressed similar ideas three times in the past year and change, beginning with his March 2018 joke about canceling the 22nd Amendment and establishing a presidency-for-life, because it’s worked so well for China’s Xi Jinping. “He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great,” Trump said. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot some day.”
RE: Bill Maher: Trump Wouldn’t Go If He Loses Re-Election
I became eligible to vote in 1999, so the first election I participated in was that of Bush (43)/Gore in '00. Since then, the only POTUS candidates that I've seen and therefore have evidence of being unable to accept election results were the following...
Al Gore (Democrat)
Hillary Clinton (Democrat)
The following election losers gracefully accepted defeat:
John Kerry (Democrat)
John McCain (Republican)
Mitch Romney (Republican)
This entire topic is nothing more than media fear mongering conjecture.
I don't think you understand the meaning of that word.
lol....Look, Trump supporters can demand what they like. Trump still just gets 2 terms max (if he can even win twice) unless the law is changed. However, it is possible that his supporters could represent a large enough number of voters that he could potentially win a 3rd term if it were allowed....which is what Obama was saying about himself. Its functionally the same thing. Trump isnt getting a 3rd term. Hell, he may not even get a second.

He was reluctant to move into the WH in the first place / it must have grown on him.
It grows on everyone that became president. It's a power thing you know, being the most powerful person in the world. Some would love to be president of the US even from other countries but they have to settle to being down the ladder of powerful. Even Oblunder got to know that power. Too bad he used it stupidly, you know like when he did his apology tour or gave away billions to the Iranians for nothing in return. But you would expect that from him, remember that he was a Muslim terrorist sympathizer and had to do his thingys under the table until he was caught doing them. We weren't supposed to know about the money to the Iranians, you know. But he got caught red handed.
