Wait....wut?
Duke Ellington Ballroom. Hope that helps.

My frat used to work the coatroom outside the Duke Ellington Ballroom. I spent many nights listening to some very good concerts while I sat there and "studied".

Weren't the Red Lion and Jungle on Anne Glidden the same place, just different owners? And, was it Red Lion before the Jungle?

Regarding the Footstompers, saw them play at a park in Rochelle a couple summers ago summer and was saddened to see only 10-12 people in audience. A far cry from decades earlier when things were flying high for them.

The Footstompers retired last year after nearly half a century of tunes. Their final concert was at the Full Moon in Hinckley, and the place was packed. The guys put on a great show before riding off into the sunset.

REM played the fieldhouse or Duke Ellington in 86 or 87.

Pile of Cows and the Violent Femmes as well.

Georgia Satellites as well.

When I was at NIU, we had concerts at the Grotto all the time. The bands were great! My favorites were the Orgasmics and the Grotto's own DeKalb Jizz Band.
