So many good quotes from this article.
“If something in the American Athletic Conference, for example, were to open up, that would be something we would need to carefully evaluate, but Liberty is thriving right now. We just want to continue to grow, and we feel we can do that very well as an FBS Independent and an ASUN member.” IM
“The last 3 years have been amazing,” said McCaw. “We opened about $150M worth of new athletic facilities in such a short period of time. I’m not sure there’s a school in the country that’s done more construction than we have in this recent window. And, of course, we’re not finished yet.”
The article also talks about the new tennis courts, phase 3 of Williams Stadium, the indoor football practice facility, considerations to building an indoor softball facility, and possible golf upgrades.
Bright future!
Of course he will say that. That is part of his job description. Still won't change the perception of your school in the eyes of the university presidents that make the call.

These presidents can't even be open out of fear of being black-balled in this numbing conditioned society; maybe we shouldn't be included with schools as such. Liberty will continue to grow; sad that politics have to be involved into sports smh.

Excellent progress! Need fan support to increase if we want to move up. If we prove to provide excess value to a conference, we'll be invited even if it means they'll hold their noses doing it. I don't think it will be soon but we need to be kicking it into full steam ahead as the P5 media contracts end around 2024 which means they'll be renewed around 2023. Even if we earn a NY6 bowl each year and make the Final Four each year, I don't know that we'd be invited. We have so much room for improvement.
AAC would be fantastic, but it aint happenin’ anytime soon.
If we spend every year in MBB, WBB, FB, and BB Top 25 for the next 5 years, and our FB attendance rises to 30,000 and our basketball averages 4,000 we might get a look.

Your points are valid and hard for some LU fans to accept. The AD is paid to promote the school and put it's best face forward. And what he said about facilities and advancement of the athletic program is true. That's a double edge sword. LU has had huge advancement in facilities. And the MBB team had it's best run last year. It's nice hoopla and achievement for the school to be bowl eligible this year. And losing to Syracuse in a blowout, and losing to Rutgers when being favored, shows how far the program has to go.
App State had phenomenal success in FCS, which it used as a stepping stone to FBS. JMU likewise it a juggernaut in FCS, which will likely help them, if and when they achieve FBS. LU won lowly Big South titles and won only one playoff game since becoming FCS in 1988. The FB success (wins) this year that LU earned were against weak FBS teams, but is a step towards advancement.
LU's best chance of acquiring a AAC invite is to continue to develop it's programs. LU has the opportunity to be one of the most disliked athletic programs by it's opponents fan base. That builds interest. Most all G5 schools are envious of LU's sudden rise and top notch facilities. And as LU's on field and on court success improves, it will help to generate interest that moves LU away from ESPN+ to ESPNU to ESPN1and2. There is nothing like creating a true rivalry in beating that rival. Hence VA and Va Tech.
It is a great time to be a fan of LU athletics. And LU is poised to make a rapid ascension. Keeping HC Freeze as long as possible is a good investment. And developing the FB program, and fan base will quicken the success.

BYU getting blackballed because of their Honor code is wrong. Liberty getting denied because of Jr making dumb comments is not. We deserve to get denied. I wouldn't want to be associated with someone who continuously calls people names.
If we had a non political president we'd be in the CUSA but we don't and as long as JR is the president, we're going to be independent.
I should add a lot of presidents don't like LU online and how we run it. There is no standards compared to ASU and PSU world campus.

Firstly, I am glad we are not in the C-USA and better off not being that conference as well as the Sun Belt. Secondly, even if someone does not like what Jr. is stating on twitter, it's not hard to ignore or scroll over. Politics is childish and so is our society as a whole for that matter. If Jr. wasn't political, that wouldn't have change what the other institutions thought of us. The presidents are puppets and wouldn't dear go against socialism that plagues most of the colleges in this country. So it's really not Jr. that's the problem; he's just another excuse for political opposition to cry and demonize. Liberty was blackballed since it's existence.

Well, it’s nice to be mentioned. And I’m a bit surprised he mentioned us ahead of ODU. I would love to be in the AAC. But it ain’t happenin’ now. But golly it’s nice to think about. At this point the ASUN is a great spot for us.
Maybe let’s start with even being able to schedule a game with some AAC teams. I’m amazed we can’t get that done.

Great video highlighting the recent 1 billion dollar campus transformation. It is a few years old now and there are some new upgrades since then and more to come.
Definitely a selling point for the present and future.

They may need to make another video in another year or two since more buildings/facilities will be completed that's being built now or will be built by then. I'm hoping we will focus more on academia now by building the school of engineering and the grad campus. This might seem far fetched, but I would hope there is a blue print for a LU Hospital coming at least by the end of this decade-early 2030's LORD willing.
Think that many CAA schools want FBS, like Delaware, James Madison, Stony Brook, Albany as well as Jacksonville St and NC A&T. That league would instantly have a very high cable footprint like the ACC’s.

From what I understand all schools outside the ASUN 7 will be stuck in the new conference. Is this a round about way to boot out LU? Seems weird if so since we are crushing it in all our sports and we were invited to the conference.
