ouch

Vegas is pretty good at what they do and I realize our schedule is a tough one but man, 5.5 wins???

I saw that and wondered if
It meant conference wins only.

I thought the same thing which sounded much more reasonable but I believe they had the O/U on UCF at 10 wins which would make it seem like the season total. I believe the sportsbook was 5dimes which is all but impossible to put a deposit into.

yup....UCF was 10 wins and Memphis was 9. So this was for the entire season.

If that was real, bet it ALL on the over.

RE: Bearcats Football Will Enjoy A Special Season
I looked into this when I was in Vegas a few weeks ago. Most of the sportsbooks didn't any o/u for CFB at that time. I thought I saw somewhere online that had the Bearcats at 7.5 wins. I told myself that I'd hammer that over if I found it as 7 wins or less, barring major injuries, would be an extreme disappointment. I know the schedule is harder but it feels like very few are giving the Bearcats the benefit of the doubt of improving year over year.

I was told it was on 5Dimes, but the only UC bet I see is for the UCLA game. I checked the futures and the College options on the website. I still don't believe 5.5 is a real number.

Cincinnati -3.5 vs UCLA

Found it under props. Ok. It's on there, but at -530.

So for those non-gamblers, you have to bet $530 to win $100. It's a little disingenuous to say the number is 5.5. With juice like that, the real number is around 7/7.5 like most of us would think.

I tried finding it earlier but had no luck.. albeit I was on my phone. I'm curious why they'd make it at -530 and not adjust the projected win total O/U for an even bet?

It's clear the line hasn't caught up to the money yet. There's no reason a futures bet should have that kind of pay-in (you rarely see any single bet futures hit more than -300), I'd see it shifting to 7.5 on the main books at least once they hit in late July.

Good Lord! I always thought Tavion Thomas was huge [2nd from the left of Warren] but check out Doaks [to the immediate right of Warren]. That is a man child folks running the rock! Who's the white dude?

EDIT. I don't believe that's Tavion pictured above. McClelland or JJ Davis? Soph. Michael Kopaygorodsky is on the far right.

RE: Bearcats Football Will Enjoy A Special Season
I just looked again at the roster.
11 Graduate students
4 seniors.
25 juniors

One of the strengths of last year's roster is that virtually all of the seniors (and graduate students) on the team started. On total numbers, our roster was young. But there was good experience and leadership starting on the field.

I will be very interested in seeing the 2 deeps when they come out. I am very curious to see how many of them are upper class-men.

We love (I love) to talk about Fickell's recruits and transfers in. But success this year will still be heavily dependent on his predecessor's recruits. Interesting dynamic.

That was the case last year, but I am counting only seven or eight that may see the field this year. Was not sure about Morgan James.

...and how this staff has developed them, along with how this staff has supplemented with transfers and recruits. We have seen a lot of underclassmen and transfers in the two-deep the last two years. Fickell and staff saw the weakness of Tubs's roster and improved it through training, technique and recruiting. I really like this roster. O-lind and D-line have some questions but I'm excited to see how they perform.

O line was a big question mark after Vann made fools of them all during the Spring Game. Hopefully Vann is just that good.

Aren't a lot of those Juniors Fickell recruits? Guys like Bryant, Warren, Forrest, Hawes, Tuckey, and others are all guys the current staff brought in and have been contributing since their Freshman year.

RE: Bearcats Football Will Enjoy A Special Season
Here’s the deal: even if Tubs recruited, Fick has developed them for three years. You think Des Ridder, Bryan Wright or James Wiggins would be as good as they are with the past regime? Heck, a bunch of guys were ready to quit if Tubs wasn’t fired (namely Garrett Campbell, per his interview in the Athletic last year).

3 years of development= your success is on that coach, not the guy who brought you in the door.
