How does he become taller? He won't be in the NFL as a QB, maybe Canada.

It was reported NFL scouts measured him at 5'11" which can work in today's NFL.

No way he's 5'11". And it doesn't work in todays NFL. Russell Wilson is 5'11, that's it and he's an exception to the norm. If the little midget from Oklahoma has a successful pro career then maybe Fine can too, because their around the same size. I just don't see it happening though. Hell, Drew Brees is a legit 6 foot tall and basically stands on his tippy toes when he throws. Doug Flutie was a good quarterback at 5'10" but that was 20 years ago.

I hope he can do it. He's definitely worthy of a Heisman campaign his senior year. Seems like he's been at UNT forever.

Nothing at all wrong with promoting him. Likelihood of success is low. Maybe if he goes 14-0.

Lol

I did not read the article but didn't Marshall promote Rakeem Cato for the Heisman?

the answer is yes, they did...

https://herdzone.com/news/2014/7/29/Mars..._Cato.aspx

and the website they made was catoin14.com....no longer works, but did the same marketing as north texas for their great qb

maybe thunderstruck73 was too young to remember that or wasn't a fan of marshall when they did this promotion

Well, to be fair, Cato was much better than Fine is.

It does work in the NFL for a very select few quarterbacks. Or maybe a more accurate way of saying it is that shorter quarterbacks have more of an opportunity than they did just a few years ago.

It's a ploy for attention. Fine isn't an amazing talent. They're trying to sell tickets. Anyone else would do the same thing.

He could throw for 10,000 yards this season and theyd make up excuses about why it doesn't count as much as an sec QB throwing for 4000, so winning it is cietually impossible, but UNT is doing a good thing here promoting their star player that very much deserves to receive attention for his talents.

Uh, im probably older than you, and I thought it was every bit as ridiculous to promote Cato as I do Fine. So there’s that.

Furthermore, how childish are you to neg rep me for voicing my opinion? I didnt bash anyone or even MENTION any names. Are you so butthurt because someone doesnt kiss UNTs and Fine’s butt that you have to throw a little tantrum? Guess so.

I had actually neg repped you back for being an oversensitive, petulant child, but then thought better of it and removed it. Now i know whenever youre involved in a post that we all have to be uber sensitive to your feelings toward UNT.

my reasoning was the "LOL" at something north texas is doing that your school has done in the past, thus i did what i did. call out all schools for dumb shiat that you don't like, i'm totally in favor of that, but if your school has done it, i don't see the point of laughing at others doing the same thing.

Okay man. But like I said, I lol’d at Cato’s promotion. No chance in hell.
Pennington and Moss were legit that n that they went to NYC. If Fine goes, I’ll be the FIRST to eat my words. I’m an equal opportunity lol’er.

I’m removing my ding on you now that i hope we understand each other. You do what you want. 04-cheers

Deal, brother. Over the past three years, i have been to Dallas and Austin on business. Didnt get to see any of Austin as we were at some resort some ways away from the city, but we stayed at the Hyatt in Dallas. Really close to Dealy (sp?) plaza. Walked there on off time. Very surreal.

I hope for us to get to the CCG, but honestly, I think some mags have given us too much credit. FIU, among others on our schedule, are going to be tough outs.

If Fine gets to NYC, you should be eating a huge ass Texas ribeye. And if he does, I’ll pay pal you a damned pitcher. Hahaha
