I guess it's relative.

Is a former four star who has not played in two season a big get?
Is a two star who has excelled at a similar institution a big get?
Is a high ranking JUco a big get?

You've got to chip away at the "preferred walk-on" list of the P5 schools. It's working for Rice. Bloomgren is offering scholarships to the Stanford, Northwestern, and Duke players that they believe aren't quite ready for a "full ride."

Also, go hard after the recruits that are accepting offers from the lower-tier P5 schools like Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana etc.

There are several G5 universities that have the location, facilities, and culture that make it a better option than playing athletics in the middle of nowhere, and for a program that isn't even competitive within it's own conference.

Well the JUCO DT has decommitted and looks FAU-bound. It was surprising we got a commit from a kid out of Florida originally anyways. He is certainly a good player can't say it doesn't hurt.

Dempsey isn't breaking news. I was posted two days ago, that he chose to stay home and play for FAU.

As for Ligon, his decommitment isn't a bad thing. We already have a couple of DE's that are rated higher than him signing in this class. There are only a few spots left. We will see what direction our staff goes to finish out this class.

Addressing our two biggest areas of need going in to next year.

Charlotte landed a 3 star TE from Alabama yesterday and a WR from Raleigh, not sure if the WR is a 3 star. Really loving the job Healy and Co. are doing.

I agree, as a HS assistant coach in Charlotte success on the trail is so good to see. It makes the program easier to sell when you can point to the amount of guys you are getting from JUCOs as well as locally and across the state. Man I am PUMPED

To add to this. In the last 48 hours, Charlotte has picked up commitments from juco aa we and ol, a three star te, and a juco about with 27 tds and 4 isn’t with another 14 rushing.

This is on top of a 1000 yard rusher transferring from the Mac, and borderline four star lb transferring from SC.

Right now, we have roughly 15 three stars and several former three stars

This is a whole lot better than watching Brad Lambert mail it in for six years.

Oh I agree... we need help on our defense, especially the D line. Hopefully our staff can find a couple of quality plug and play DT's before signing day.
