I signed up but going to Addison Rock & Wheels on Thursday. Weather will be nice. Look forward to hearing Hammock comments. Monty should be interesting too. How will he spin next year?

Was at the Rockford summer circuit yesterday. I thought even though Hammock didn’t give out a lot of info he was entertaining. Monty was fairly low key and kept it short. Just how I saw it others may have seen it differently. I enjoyed the evening and hearing all the coaches.

Coach Hammock did say Bowers was out yesterday morning throwing passes in the rain.

Nice event at the Two Brothers Roundhouse. I enjoyed hearing from all the NIU coaches. Two others in addition to Hammock are alumni as well. Several of the teams are young and on the rise (Cross Country, Track, Men's Soccer). Hammock hinted at a few more transfers that cannot yet be named because of compliance rules. He is very high on his offensive coordinator and knows Huskie fans want to see an improved offense. He also knows we want to see bowl wins.

It will be great if some of those transfers play corner. Some veteran additions there would really help.

We have some young talented DBs but we really lack the depth for a full season. One or two DBs go down and we are looking like we did in the Bowl game last year against UAB. Bringing on Marshe Terry will certainly help, but in my opinion we could use additional transfers, especially cornerbacks.

I would take a proven wide receiver. With potentially the best throwing QB NIU has had in decades, he needs targets. Fabian McCray might be a stud but don't know yet.

I’ll take a WR with size. IMHO Robinson is still another year away from being a true #1.

Attended the Summer Circuit in Oakbrook. Great event, met Hammock... he's as good as advertised. However, don't think I'm a big fan of Coach Monty....

I've talked to Monty more than once over the years and it was always a pleasure. Tonight he was a bit subdued for some reason. He came off as defeated in my my eyes

He didn't really look like he wanted to be there. And who passes up on a 7 ft center who is interested in the program? And now the kid is going to Ohio, and will probably be a thorn in our side.

Anyway, I am really excited for Hammock. He is truly beating the hell out of complacency. He's right, the Orange Bowl was years ago. It's time for us to get some new Orange Bowl gear.

Some fan called it out in the audience. He said his friend reached out to Monty and NIU BBall and got no responses or inquiries. His name is Nolan Foster and he's now headed to Ohio.

Yikes...How awkward was that?

Very. He countered by naming the 6'7 and 6'8 players we have coming in.

I watched the kids highlight tape. He would be a bigger project than Big Country was a couple of years ago. He looks and plays like Andrew Zelis so NIU is not missing out on a 7 footer who is actually 6'10". They are better off with smaller more athletic big men.

That was a good moment. Hammock also talked about opening up the recruiting pipeline to New Jersey. He mentioned there was a kid on campus as part of that. I saw this tweet this morning, so wondering if it was him:
