RE: UAB Baseball
The biggest thing to note is that the season is over & all of the coaches remain.

Pretty much means that our expectations have been met or else we have no expectations.

Seems likes it’s been that way for about 10 years now

RE: UAB Baseball
I doubt there would be any coaching change until after the CWS.

If I had to guess I would say first they are hoping he resigns and second nothing will happen until after the CWS as stated above. I like Shoop and he faces an uphill battle at UAB but we can be better.

Thanks for the info, I was curious why there hadn't been any movement. I understand the uphill battle aspect, but baseball is booming everywhere in the south except for UAB.

RE: UAB Baseball
In Alabama we are much more dependent on superior coaching and talent recognition because Alabama public collegiate baseball programs have fewer scholarships to give each year than public collegiate programs in regional states who have "Hope type" additional scholarships to offer instate talent from gaming revenues. Alabama programs can only offer the same NCAA scholarships every other program can give.

Can you imagine the howls from AU and UA FB coaches if UGA, LSU and UFL were allowed 95-100 FB scholarships every year while they were limited to the standard 85?

(Once again the Alabama legislature has killed a state gaming vote by its people. The Creek Indian monopoly on "no state tax paying" casino gaming remains secure)

Samford like Duke, Vandy, Northwestern,Southern Cal and Stanford are probably not able to access such public tax funding. They must depend on endowment and other inside school funding. That is where better coaching skills and judgement about players is paramount. Maybe UAB needs to bring in another JSU coach?

JSU has a UAB coach. Leading up to his first head coaching position at JSU, Case served as assistant coach at UAB under Pete Rancont and at Mississippi State University under Pat McMahon. While at UAB, his teams claimed a 1991 Sun Belt Conference Championship and their first NCAA Regional appearance as well as a 1992 Great Mid-West Conference Title.

Id throw what little money I had at Case to be honest if there is a coaching change.

There was a time when Casey Dunn was the hot name. I wouldn't say that time is still now though.

Not sure what it will take for people (including myself) to care enough about baseball.

Jim has a stadium named after him at JSU, and he is very happy there. He also knows the limitations at UAB right now, and I don't think he would make that move for anything. If I were Ingram, I would reach out to him--if and when there is an opening--but I don't think there's much of a chance he makes the move.
