Not a bad lineup, and very geographically dispersed. If you're an ACC school you might play in Miami one year, San Diego the next year, and Boston the year after that.
Which I think is pretty cool.
Boston will be very, very, COOL.
Well, more likely COLD, right?
Still I agree, I'd love to see a football game in Fenway Park.

"The ACC and its bowl partners will make team selections based on several factors, including geographic proximity, avoiding repeat appearances and matchups, and regular-season won-loss records."
If this is true, little chance of Clemson ever playing in the Boston Bowl.

That's not the point, but as usual I didn't expect "Mr GO ACC!" to get it.
We get bowl opportunities based upon previous bowl performance, especially fan support. We lost the Gator Bowl because we continually forced inferior traveling fanbases upon them so they chose to go elsewhere even though it meant they would fall in the bowl hierarchy for the conferences they went with.
We continually put our bowl teams in bowls that are in locations that are not all that desirable, bowls with minuscule payouts compared to our peers because we compound the already poor traveling football fanbases with less than desirable bowl locations.
Exactly how many fans do you expect NC State or UVA to take to San Diego? NC State doesn't travel to bowl games in Charlotte.
It's a self-perpetuating cycle "The ACC doesn't travel to bowls" when you have undesirable bowl locations, and it effects Clemson whether we play in the Boston Bowl or not because we equally share bowl payouts.

Hold on, I don't think you have your facts straight. Every change in bowl lineup since 2012 - literally every one - has INCREASED the total payout to the ACC, not decreased it. While the final numbers are obviously not out yet, based on past payouts it looks like this change will also result in a small net increase.
As for "desirable" bowls, I think much of that depends on where you live. Now let me go on record that I'm no fan of the so-called " Boston Bowl", but if it pays enough I'll learn to live with it. The league did get the Gator Bowl back - 1/2 years in the last cycle, every year in the next cycle. That's good news for the Southern ACC teams, IMO.
I think bowls like the Sun and Holiday are perfect for ACC teams which don't bring a lot of fans - those are exactly the teams that the conference needs to be sending to those bowls. That said, the ACC did send Virginia Tech to the Sun Bowl one year, but that probably had a lot to do with the tier system which is being abolished in this cycle.
This new bowl cycle represents a 2-run RBI single by the ACC, IMO. Anyone who expected a grand slam is living in a fantasy world. Gradual improvement...

Its still disappointing to me that AAC didn't get the Liberty bowl a few years back .....Seems like our champion and 2nd place school deserve better.

They do, but they wont get the chance to prove it until the AAC leadership figures out they will have to invest in creating a high paying post season destination bowl for itself. If your not willing to risk investing in a game for your own champion---why should anyone else risk it? They will be waiting around forever waiting for someone else to hand them a big game---There is absolutely no evidence that anyone is going to create a big game for the AAC.
