Travis Creel is replacing Caillet on our staff. This makes our last 2 hires both from La Tech.

and speaking of La Tech......Purdue's coach left for the Oregon head job and his replacement is former La Tech and Alabama head coach Greg Goff. Goff was a volunteer assistant this past season at Purdue.

Talk about small world...the Alabama coach that Goff took over for that was fired, Mitch Gaspard, is rumored to take Creel’s spot at La Tech.

Recruiting rank isn't looking so well

Our talent hasn’t been great for a while.

Maybe Creel will start recruiting the Coast more now. The former staff got away from that. A lot of good players down here that have been going to other schools. Time for Southern Miss to start recruiting Southern Mississippi again.

I don’t care where the kids come from. If we are going to be a program with top twenty fan support, then we need to be recruiting and winning like a program with top twenty fan support...which we aren’t doing.

would like to see another lefthander or two in the class. And some hitters. but at least with all those pitchers youd think 2-3 will be pretty good.
