Facebook commercial promoting Memphis. Wonder if anyone from Memphis leadership was behind it as some kind of promotion for the city.

I still don't get what fb is trying to promote, but this is awesome for the city.

Somewhere along the way, it became fashionable to desecrate a great song. SMDH.
I know top flight musicians (local-or hail from Memphis) that hate it too.

Partly.

He spent one weekend here, as a tourist he admits, and wrote the song on the basis of that trip.

I'm not knocking him. Go get money. But I don't have to like it.

Always loved that song. It was overplayed, but had a great melody, and wonderful sentiment at a time in the 90s before we really embraced our music history as fully as we do now (before Stax was reborn, before the Smithsonian Rock and Soul museum, etc). It is charming.

Good commercial despite the song. I think it's an ad for Facebook groups.
