Every now and then I run across something I’ve never seen before. A fan on the first base line yelled time mid pitch and caused the GT pitcher to balk in a key spot.

What came afterwards was a 15 minute delay to consult the rule book. Balk call stands. Fan didn’t get tossed. GT coach threw a fit. The site director for the ncaa had to call the head of officials for advice.

Naturally coastal gets an RBI single next pitch and GT is playing game under protest

Coastal went up 7-2 that inning, but ended up losing 10-8 to get bounced from the Atlanta regional after a 1-2 weekend.

Not a great post-season for the league, a lot of that is on my team.

The tossing of the pitching coach was even more odd!

It’s on every team. This was the weakest I’ve seen this conference in a long time.

It was good to see the bottom of the league improve (App, ULM). GSU was the only really bad team in the league this year.

There's no doubt the top of the league was weaker than usual though. Both preseason picks to win each division had tough years (UL, Coastal) and some of the other usually strong teams were a bit weaker than usual too (USA, Troy).

As much as parity is a strength for a conference like the SEC, unfortunately it seems like a detriment to the Sun Belt. And with the top of the league weakening this year while the bottom got better we saw a lot more parity.

Pitching really hurt CC, watched the Auburn game, the Tigers really wore out the relievers, no doubt a down yr, getting only one in while CUSA got 3 kinda summed up the season, leagues better than this.

Weakest since 2012; that year was terrible

Another year with Rodney Hennon in 2020.

Watch out next season. A lot of young rosters this year, and a lot of teams returning their impact players.

I see next season being a multi-bid year.

Coastal just lacked the pitching this year. Their offense was the best in the Belt this year. Pitching was not. They will be better next year. I wouldn’t t be a bit surprised to see Coastal hosting a regional next year. Louisiana has dropped off a good bit the last couple years. South Al was down this year too. The Belt almost was a 2 bid league this year. Next year we need to get back to at least getting 2 in
