DRC: "UNiTe North Texas" Campaign to Begin this Year
This article is actually about the next phase of the UNT Master Plan.
ARLINGTON — Wren Baker talked about big plans and ambitions Saturday, when the North Texas athletic department kicked off its annual coaches caravan at Texas Live! in Arlington.
UNT’s athletic director named expanding the school’s athletic and academic centers through a grass roots fundraising campaign as a top priority in front of a crowd of several hundred fans and boosters. He also talked about “Unite North Texas,” the school’s promotional campaign for the upcoming school year.
Those talking points led up to the biggest ambition of all.
“Let’s take over this city,” Baker said.

RE: DRC: "Unite North Texas" Campaign to Begin this Year
I should know this but is UNT part of any college system within the state of Texas?
One of my twin nephews is going to be a freshman at UNT this fall. He and his brother both plan on being film majors - one will be at UNT and the other at UTA.

North Texas is their own system. We are one of the largest public universities in Texas. Denton is the main campus. UNT at Dallas and UNT Health Sciences Center in Fort Worth are part of it.

University of Texas System
Texas A&M System
Texas Tech System
University of North Texas System
University of Houston System
Texas State System (which has no flagship and consists of Lamar University, Sam Houston State University, Sul Ross University, Texas State University- San Marcos, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lamar State College-Orange, and Lamar State College-Port Arthur)

but you said one of the largest universities in the state IE a single school
no one counts the enrollment of systems either
and even if it was counting systems then the north Texas state system would be #6...the smallest in the state

It may be counting undergrad/grad schools together, but this page makes it look like UNT is the 4th biggest single school in Texas (behind UT, Texas A&M and Houston).

Hey, Rube! It’s the University of North Texas. Who care if we’re the 4th, 5th, or 6th largest University in Texas?

You do realize their are 38 public universities in the state of Texas. North Texas is certainly one of the largest. Other than trolling this thread, I don't understand why you are arguing.
Back to the original topic. UNT is moving forward with the next phase of our master plan, and that includes expanding our presence in the Dallas/Fort Worth media market.
