It won't be long until Iowa finds a comercial sponsor for "The Wave". You know that new feel-good tradition where the crowd turns and waves at the sick kids in the Hospital.

I can see it now. And now it's time for "The Wave brought to you by Mershman Seeds seed corn"

Over-the-top Marketing and sponsership is slowly de-valuing college games. The new trophy games Iowa plays in also have marketing misfires written all over them.

All these games have been given groan inducing names that do the opposite of inspiring fans and players to take interest in a game. It makes a game sound cheap instead of making it sound special.

Senior Day presented by Depends?

Some men ask why...I ask why not.
