Seems it was so popular that they limited revenue only by transactions taking so long and started a CC and debit card only system to speed up the line.

walking around the Liberty Bowl I see Coletta's Pizza by the slice...Hog Wild BBQ...Uncle Lou's Chicken and Turkey legs...local Ghost River beer plus all the hot dogs, pop corn, and Coke you could ever want.

you're complaining just to complain IMHO

Well, your humble opinion is wrong. I'm not complaining about the variety and quality of concessions (they are quite good), I'm complaining about the fact that we don't have monetary control over said concessions or get any monetary benefit. The whole premise of this thread is how other football programs are fighting lagging attendance by lowering concessions prices. We do not have that ability because we do not play on campus. That's just a fact.

Well, keep in mind this is the same guy who was begging for spare tickets then took the tickets that were given to him and sold them for concession money. So his opinion on this subject is less than sh&t.

I doubt anyone has ever said ‘well I was going to go to the game but then I found out they charge 4 bucks for a hotdog so I’m staying home!’

Liberty Bowl has solid concessions .

Make the prices reasonable, and we would eat inside. Who doesn't like game day hotdogs and peanuts? Just not going to pay 5 bucks for a freaking hotdog. But I would buy 5, 1 dollar hotdogs.

Reduced pricing has been creeping in to the area. The last couple of years there's been $2 hot dogs and Cokes at the stadium for selected Tigers games. Redbirds have a weekly $1 dog night and a $2 draft night (unfortunately it's only PBR and Bud Light). Not sure I'd want a reduced draft night at the Liberty Bowl. That might get out of hand. Like I said, at least the reduced concession prices are creeping in slowly. Maybe in five years or so it'll be more common.

With beer priced at $8 each (and assume the "cost" is $2 per beer) I might buy a beer or two. So, they make $12 off me (profits).

If beer were priced at $5 each, I'd have four easy. They still make $12 off me and likely get others to buy one at $5 when they wouldn't buy one at $8.

Very true.

Meanwhile, I'm still going to drink the pint of whiskey I've brought into every home game since I was eighteen.

And Tiger Lane, along with every other college tailgate area I've seen lately, has a fair number of people who choose not to go into the stadium - largely because they can eat and drink what they bring.

I also know a young father of 4 who absolutely weighs concession pricing into his decisions on the number of games to attend.

Mercedes stadium has been ahead of its time when it comes to concessions from day 1.

When you have a myopic viewpoint, they refuse to see any other possible opinions to a matter. Since their opinion is the only one that matters, it is just inconceivable that anyone could think contrary to their opinion.

My first girlfriend and her family would tailgate at games and maybe actually make it into the stadium for one or two games a season as a complete group. They would listen to the game on the radio or watch on tv if it was available. They would definitely need drivers for the trek home. This was long before prices were as high as they are now and even before they started serving alcohol in the stadium. They stayed out largely because it was cheaper to stay out and eat and especially drink.
