The reality is it can be much more difficult to pitch when the expectations are squarely on your shoulders. The pressure made Megan better, that is not the norm.

Dukes are up 5-0 in the top 5th against Central Michigan. Bermudez is doing well in the circle so far. Thru 4 innings, she has given up just 2 hits.

Just saw on Twitter that both Camry Arnold and Kierstin Roadcap hit the transfer portal this week. Did anyone ever hear what the story is with Arnold this year. I think a few had posted that she wasn’t playing due to injury but maybe there is more there?

Bad loss to Lehigh earlier today ... not good

Looking much stronger against NC St up 7-1 early

Alexander being injured totally changes the outlook for this team in terms of goals and expectations. Coming out of today with a win is great, if they can hold on. It’s interesting that it looks like it’ll come against NC State rather than Lehigh.

Didn’t realize Alexander was injured. Definitely hurts but hopefully it’s not bad, and she returns soon. Good win against NCSt 13-5.

Only silver lining is that some of the other pitchers are going to get more innings than planned so if the girls can still come out of the CAA on top, that could pay dividends in the tourney... assuming they improve throughout the season.

Early in Game #3 in NC State Invitational but JMU is up 3-0 in a second game against Lehigh. Need to avenge yesterday's loss.

Looks like Alexis Bermudez is doing well pitching this morning after a nice win against the host NC State last night.

12-0 Bottom of the 3rd after the Lady Dukes get 9 in the top half of the inning.

Lady Dukes improve to 8-4 and avenge an ugly loss yesterday in Raleigh with a win 15-3 in Game #1 on Sunday over Lehigh.

2-14 NC A&T up next before the Lady Dukes head home to open UVa's new stadium Tuesday at 4 PM in CVille.

I didn’t watch any of this weekend’s games, but it looks like Bermudez had a great weekend. Honestly, despite the loss, I think there’s cause for lots of optimism after having another pitcher besides Alexander have great success.

Hopefully the outlook on CC isn’t bad long term. Anybody know anything?

At this point, since hosting is probably out of the question, it's about improving and fine tuning our other pitching options. We can still be a dangerous Tourney team if we peak later in the season.

Dukes roll NC A&T 13-0

While a tough loss on Saturday - we're still firmly in a mid, to high #2. Not thinking hosting a regionals is likely.

I just watched the on demand of the NC State game. Bermudez pitched a darn good game against some good bats. I got a little scared when Phillips got hit behind the plate, but she popped up and kept going. Nice to see some toughness from the Freshman. She also blasted her first HR to dead center. Her work behind the plate has been beyond her years, but now she is starting to look more comfortable AT the plate.

Hopefully Alexander can get back soon, but I think this can be a positive because it forces these newer pitchers to step up. Experience is golden!
