I assume too it is a H/H. Not bad. Location is actually good for Metro NY and New England alums. Right off I-95.

Fairfield is an associate member of the CAA. They play men's LAX in the CAA.

This would be my guess, proximity to NYC makes them a decent enough H/H

RE: 2019/20 MBB Schedule
I still don't really get the point of these 'tournaments.' Like all together that's a pretty decent OOC slate, 2 winnable P5 opponents, a road game against a mid major who had a great 2019, and a home game. But why go through the Hall of Fame Classic for scheduling versus just doing it the old fashioned way?

I'm assuming that it benefits the P5 programs. They can get teams like W&M and Morehead St. to come to their place without having to pay them the extra fee (I assume). The mid-majors will do it for the chance to play some of these teams who otherwise would probably never schedule them. A good mid-major team like Wofford (and hopefully W&M) would love a tournament like this for a chance to not only play but actually beat some P5's.

RE: 2019/20 MBB Schedule
I think they also don't fully count against the total game limit, so you can get in an extra game or two to your season through this. More time to prep for conference play.

Overall though, this seems like a perfect event for us with three quality games plus a home game. Great scheduling.

I believe the Tourney pays for the visiting team travel expenses. Oklahoma and Stanford are expensive trips.

The whole tournament counts as one game, so we could have up to three extra games.

The announcement says the Tribe “returns nine players” and then mentions seven by name, including Andy VV. Looking at the roster, #8 is Austin Washburn. Who is the ninth?

Edit - oops never mind - it’s Dronjak.

Assume that will be at the new Entertainment and Sports Arena.

As a recent graduate who just moved to NOVA, I like it. Also should be over winter break, so some students might make it out too

RE: 2019/20 MBB Schedule
Perfect pre-CAA tournament exposure to the facility, if it is at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. Good for DC alums and DMV recruiting. St. Francis won the NEC last year, lost in first round of NIT to top seed Indiana, and return their 6'5" guard who declared early for the NBA draft and returned like Nate. Solid, but winnable game. They play at VCU and Richmond to start the season, and have Delaware at home, so, provides a good reference.

Their game write-up (SFU) says Luke Loewe is transferring?

I missed that announcement.

Pardon me for not following the schedule closely, but did we renew the H and H with George Mason?

That's a real shame. I very much enjoyed those games.

RE: 2019/20 MBB Schedule
Time for a recap of our MBB schedule for 2019-20 from what we know:

11/12 @ Wofford
11/15 Home Hampton
11/18 @ Oklahoma
11/21 @ Stanford
11/26 Home Morehead State
12/3 Home ODU
12/8 @ Fairfield
12/22 play St Francis in Washington DC

We have an away game with St Joe's

It is time for the program to step up and get a good home schedule for our remaining games which will take $$ or connection and maybe both!
