Gavitt Games out
just saw
Villanova at Ohio State
Michigan State at Seton Hall
Creighton at Michigan
Purdue at Marquette
Providence at Northwestern
Penn State at Georgetown
Minnesota at Butler
DePaul at Iowa

pretty solid matchups. The Big ones will be the top 4 games- though I think the Providence/Northwestern and Minnesota/Butler games could be sneaky good.

RE: Gavitt Games out
just was looking- from the Big Ten side of things- Michigan St will be in 1 matchup, but everyone else will have been in 3 times each.

From the Big East side- Creighton and DePaul are in 5th time. Butler and Xavier will have been in after this year only 3 times- they must be in the remaining 3 years. Everyone else would have been in 4 of 5 years.

Nice to have Michigan State now in the series.

Yeah. A bit surprised that it's them playing Seton Hall and not Nova, but hey, it's progress.....

The one thing that Adoraz brought up on the other board is interesting. If Michigan St is doing this kicking and screaming(which is possible), will this long term be a negative in that it could eventually force the cancellation of this?

It's possible... but I would think unlikely.

When the BE/PAC scheduling series lost steam, it was rumored that it was due to both Arizona/UCLA being unwilling or unable to participate in it. A scheduling series with the PAC is useless without one or both programs involved, due to the lack of historical strength from the middle of the league. However, even if you were to take out Michigan State permanently from the rotation, you still have brand programs in Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan and Maryland to help create value in a potential series within a given year.

If MSU refuses to participate, then the Big East should be able stipulate that the historically bottom-tier of the B1G (Rutgers, Penn State, Northwestern, Nebraska) can only have a select placement in the games, unless they are projected to be a quality game.

It would be a bad look for the B1G, IMO, if Michigan State proclaims it is too good to participate in a challenge. Villanova has won more titles than they have, and definitely have experienced greater success in recent years, and they aren't dragging their weight around.

The problem is that the Big Ten still holds pretty close to all the cards. They don't need the challenge anywhere near as much as the Big East needs the challenge..
