I know my Mavericks are going 2-and-the-Q but it's exciting to see UNO get there anyway. I hope they prove me wrong.

Don't know if this was intentional, but 10 of the 16 seeded teams, if they win the regional they are hosting, will play a conference mate in the super regionals.

Here's the bracket:

Big 12 regular season champions Texas Tech will be hosting a regional/super regional for the 5th time in 6 years.

If we win, we will host a super regional for the 4th time in 6 years.

I think I heard 44% during the selection show but I could be wrong.

Just under 70%, according to this article:

https://www.ncaa.com/news/baseball/artic...70-percent

Quote:We analyzed the last 10 years of the NCAA DI baseball tournament [2008 through 2017] and laid out our key findings below in a breakdown of how having home-field advantage benefits teams in the postseason.
Quote:68.8 percent of teams hosting a Regional advanced to the Super Regional round (106 of 154 teams)
Quote:66.2 percent of teams hosting a Super Regional advanced to the College World Series (51 of 77 teams)
Quote:65.2 percent of teams that had home-field advantage in both the Regional and Super Regional rounds advanced to the College World Series (45 of 69 teams)

On the Road to Omaha, the 2 teams from Omaha are in the tourney: Creighton and UNOmaha. (I doubt they'll make it to the final 8, but it's still a great accomplishment, especially for UNO who is making their 1st tourney by beating Summit League beast ORU in Tulsa.) And the Nebraska Huskers are in- all 3 Nebraska D1 teams made it.

Metro Omaha is also represented in the NAIA (Bellevue) and JUCO d1 (Iowa Western CC) World Series. Good spring for baseball in the Omaha area.
